  1. Or we’d be down by 1 if we had kicked both field goals. This game is fun.
  2. And if they had kicked a field goal, we’d be down by 4 against SMU.
  3. To anyone else on their way, don’t feel like you need to rush. There’s no line to get in.
  4. If we come out fast, I expect this game to be close. If we poop the bed in the first half, it's going to be a long night.
  5. Oddly enough, this may be my score prediction. lol
  6. Those 3 also have significant endowments already compared to UNT/TXST to serve a lot fewer students. - UNT $296M - Texas State $343M - SMU $2B - Baylor $2B - Rice $8B Compare those with the 4 schools that are sharing the $3.9B TUF.
  7. Seriously, why does every thread need this garbage?
  8. 206-207 (slight preference for 207) are the best seats in the house to me, but I don’t care anything about being right down by the bench. I’d rather have the height for viewing the actual game.
  9. That’s correct UT/A&M have the Permanent University Fund
  10. I woke up today and thought, “You know what would be really cool? Another thread about Caponi or this defense.”
  11. Wait… the Pac12 is the best conference?
  12. This statement may be true, but I don't see how just saying X number of transfers in the 2-deep means it has given more than it has taken away. There's got to be some quality/productivity components of the transfers to support the statement.
  13. Like I said: because of budget reasons you have to make due with the staff we already have on hand without replacing those 5 because other sales teams that sell a product more vital to the success of the company need to take priority this year. But next year we will have more capacity to beef up your sales team
  14. I don’t know. Let’s say I hire you as a sales manager of a bottom half sales team, 5 of your top 7 sales people leave before the sales season starts, and because of budget reasons you have to make due with the staff we already have on hand without replacing those 5 because other sales teams that sell a product more vital to the success of the company need to take priority this year. But next year we will have more capacity to beef up your sales team… Should you be fired anyway if your team ends up slipping from lower middle of the pack to the bottom?
  15. It is interesting that their fanbases support their program without making excuses isn’t it?
  16. I’m pretty sure coordinators are on two year deals. They were a few years ago, and I can’t imagine that changed. I could be wrong though.
  17. For me, it’s two reasons… 1- I just don’t see that it does the program any favors to do it now. I don’t see the value add here, at USC, or anywhere else. 2- My personal belief is that a new staff deserves a full year of recruiting before you truly know what they’re made of. I know that’s the unpopular opinion around here, and I’m okay with that.
  18. I’ve never seen anyone argue it can’t be done during the year. Plenty of debate about the wisdom of doing it mid year or whether or not we have the $’s to do it mid year.
  19. I’m not going to pretend I know enough about either of those programs to know if the interim OC at Arkansas had anything to do with that win today or what the talent level of the Arkansas players is.
  20. I don’t care what anyone in the AD said when Morris was hired or preseason. Most of that is just coach speak. It’s very clear just by watching our games that the terrible defense from last year is a rebuild. It’s going to take getting the right players to make it better. We haven’t done that. For me that’s a result of the recruits the old staff brought in and the new staff not finding what they needed via the portal. Offense was not a rebuild. It was a quarterback and playmaker or 2 away from being really good. The new staff addressed that with great success. It’s also very evident that the AAC has some pretty terrible defenses across the board.
  21. You can’t fix this defense without new players. It doesn’t matter what scheme you run. We just don’t have the players we need to improve this defense. The cupboard is just that bare on the defensive side of the ball. Firing Caponi won’t do any good mid-season. It really just is what it is. We are just going to have to take our lumps and find players who can beef up the defense.
