  1. This is what GOOD recruiting is. You have to get in early and not be a program that is going to take scraps. The problem is if you find a gem is keeping them.
  2. I don't like is opinion a lot but his facts are always on.
  3. Robert Allen reporter for Scout.com and GoPokes.com says confirmed that Mason Fine is PWO. So Augie would be ONLY Scholly QB.
  4. Robert Allen reporter for Scout.com and GoPokes.com says confirmed that Mason Fine is PWO.
  5. I really think he's a lock. It seems like he WANTS to be at UNT.
  6. You can do that but you have to be careful. There is some sort of NCAA rules about using Finacial aid for Athletes that should or could go to others. I think if he were to play a certain amount they forfeit the aid or something. It's weird. And using academic scholarships for kids you should give athletic ones for. Not completely clear on it but I know there are rules about it.
  7. There is a GOLD MINE of kids that play at OK Powerhouse programs Jenks, Union, Broken Arrow, Booker T, McLain and others that all get overlooked and end up at Emporia State, Pittsburg State, Arkansas Tech and StephenFAustin. The SFA guys are here weekly. University of Ohio is in OKC all the time too. A TON of talent that is over looked because they aren't good enough for OU/OSU and TU has some high entrance standards. Could be a great pipeline.
  8. Because also remember, NSD is the FIRST day you can sign, not the last Nothing. Just like a college could come offer and sign someone you offered a PWO to after NSD. Remeber NSD is the FIRST day you can sign. For instance, Mason Fine decides to take a PWO/Blueshirt/whatever nonbinding thing you want to say and Maryland or WSU or LSU doens't sign a QB on NSD. They could then offer and sign him after to fill the class. Final signing day is April 1st!
  9. Nope nothing is signed. I know that kids will sing a ceremonial thing in the case of PWO but it's all honor system. Same thing with a blueshirt. Because, like you said, they'd get torched in recruiting if that kid came out and said we had an agreement and they didn't honor it. Especially if he had text or twitter DM proof.
  10. I think he would have a MUCH bigger chance of earning a scholly at QB or slot receiver at UNT year 1 for sure and that reason enough.
  11. And I'd take a PWO at UNT over OSU. Better shot to play in a system better suited to you. But do you see where I'm coming from here? It's kind of an honesty thing too. Just come out an say what it is because now major stories are being written. This I think is more likely and they have an agreement on it but then also PWO.
  12. THIS!!! It does matter. It counts towards your scholarship count. It counts towards your rep. There was a BLEACHER REPORT article about "Mason Fine's first D1 offer" and it's gonna look real bad that this kid didn't come out and specify of its a PWO or Blueshirt and let every recruiting site and a major publication think it's scholarship. Because even if it's "blueshirt" you show up as a PWO.
  13. Seriously WE ARE THE ONES THAT BROUGHT THE BLUESHIRT THING UP. Good lord people
  14. It isn't a "blueshirt" until AFTER he shows up and the coaching staff announces that he has been awarded the scholarship. Until that point it's a PWO. Because NO ONE has confirmed that the coaching has offer a "blueshirt". The ONLY mention of it is on this board and Vito because he had to retract his mistake on his story.
  15. I know it's a thing. A thing WE'VE talked about and not confirmable. The ONLY thing you can CONFIRM is Fine hasn't been offered a scholarship by the staff at UNT and Augie has. We can keep throwing it around but come signing day Mason Fine won't be signing anything.
  16. You've got to stop with the blue shirt stuff. That's a fancy way of saying a PWO that we'll give a scholly to in Aug. but you'll never know till he is awarded one and could never be. Their is no "signing" a blueshirt and if those coaches left or he didn't preform or whatever there's nothing. Only a signed letter of intent= scholarship. If they thought he was a scholarship QB he'd have one now. He is a PWO until awarded a scholarship. Because Augie's is coming on an offical visit"paid for by the university" that means they have intent to over a scholarship. If you don't intend or have offered a PWO the university can't pay for your visit a la Mason Fine last Sunday. As of right now you have a 2 star QB PWO(pretty nice) and a 3 star coming on an offical. Not bad.
  17. Hudl http://www.hudl.com/athlete/2162740/highlights/312974377/v2 247 http://247sports.com/Player/Tyler-Natee-76599 Expect an offer SOON
  18. I understand what a blueshirt is but it is only used when you have a full class. And technically it's still a PWO until that scholly is awarded so either way it isn't a scholarship offer. Also we've been the ones throwing that term around you'll notice Mason Fine has never been quoted as saying that either. Facts are right not every recruiting website says UNT has offered Mason Fine and he has verbally commited and its false and I'm not real sure why Vito hasn't straight asked Mason? Just get a quote on the record.
  19. I do. I think if bleacher report is doing an article on your first scholly offer and you don't technically have one yes I think you do. Because if they don't offer then it's not the coaches who will look bad. That's why your not getting. It's NOT PAID FOR. A 'Blue Shirt' is a made up term for a PWO who gets a scholly "at some point in his career" and the article even says he may "have to pay". Unless his name is on the signing class roster on signing day he is a PWO until he gets a scholly. Period.
  20. The thing is I really like Mason and I think he is good kid and a good player but it's starting to seem like he's leading people to believe something that isn't true with the "well I didn't exactly say that" kinda verbiage and to me or looks bad. When Bleacher Report runs an article about your first offer you should probably mention if it's scholly or not.
  21. That I would understand but there are NCAA rules about taking financial and academic scholarships away from others when you would or should have an athletic one especially if you are getting Government Finacial Aid. That would be like you taking a full scholarship class and letting the Cherokee Nation pay for the tuition for the rest of your class if you take all Cherokees. You can see how that could go bad right?
