  1. A gun is a tool. If you remove guns from the equation then deranged people will find other means to commit these heinous acts. This is an intelligent group, most of whom are UNT Alumni, which in my opinion are some of the best people I have had the pleasure of knowing. However I believe our founding fathers were amazing individuals who created the bill of rights. They felt so strongly about the populace's right to bear arms that it is the second amendment. These stories are all too frequent. I believe as a society we must address mental illness and the part it plays in these horrendous acts.
  2. The most self righteous men I know seem to be the ones who are getting handy's at the strip club... Who cares what people do? Just support Mean Green Football. If you don't do that than you sir lack moral fiber!
  3. Coach Hedlund is still going strong! Little known fact, he was the coach of the men's program in 1994. That was the season that the team disbanded, a sad day for UNT, but I am glad he was retained to lead the women's program to the level it is now. I hope that someday the men's program will be re-instated. However I will always be a proud supporter of the UNT women's team!!!!!
  4. If any of you did college in Denton right you blew way more that $4000 on stupidity... I was a bartender on Fry street. If there is one thing we do in Denton better than anywhere else in Texas is spend money at out local watering holes. I am not judging. I spent more than my fair share!!! Thank god the casino was in Louisiana. I would have blown every cent I made if it was closer! And lets be honest, more than one of us made the drive to Oklahoma after 2 am to get beer, even if it was that low alcohol content beer that it is sold up there. I can't predict the future as to if this decision is good or bad. I am sure both situations will come out of it. For now, these young men put in a ton of hours learning and honing their skill set, which most of us know will not pay off as a professional career. If it fails then at least we know that paying players isn't a viable tool.
  5. Great job Mean Green. With the talent in the metro-plex alone this team should be a powerhouse and a source of pride for the university! I am looking forward to taking my family to a game this year. Go Mean Green!
  6. SMU was awful last year. It would be hubris to think it will be an easy day, but there is no way they have made up that much ground. SMU will never see us as a legit rival. We are the poor public school kids. They don't even consider us. I will love to see us beat them, but a rivalry has to be on both sides. As far as the UTSA rival debate all I can say is this: UTSA was playing flag football 5 years ago. We have been playing football for over 100 years. It is shameful that our team has failed to rise to the occasion and beat these guys. Coach Mac said you cannot just pour some concrete and think your recruiting problems will go away. He would normally be correct, but UTSA doesn't have the on-campus facilities like UNT and they seem to get talent. Talent enough to beat us! I am not sure who our rival is at this point. In lieu of establishing a rival, I just don't want another year of lopsided losses to powerhouses like LA Tech, Rice, and UAB. UAB dropped their program, and then reinstated it. Perhaps we will have their number in 2016! Death to the Blazers!!!!
  7. UNT fans seem to travel well. I have been to 2 games at Rice where we outnumbered the Owls and got pounded. The product on the field matters more than the turnout in the stands. Sorry for misreading the original post.
  8. We don't want any of Baylor. There was a time when we could hold our own against the likes of Baylor and Texas Tech. That time has passed. We have trouble with UTSA now. I love MG football, but we need to be realistic.
