They were hiring for a Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement recently. Hope they brought someone on with common sense.

What is the reasoning again for no parade? Something to do with waste?

AAC News: Scott Pera Fired
Matt from A700 replied to Glory to the Green's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I will miss giving him crap at games. -
There's like 8,000 seats in the lower bowl, you will likely be able to say YOLO, get in and sit wherever you want all tournament, but especially tomorrow and Friday.

Noooo!! Get off of Ticketbastard! After fees, $25 will get you in the building and buying through UNT will send some of that money to the school. https://meangreensports.evenue.net/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/SEGetEventList?groupCode=AACSS&linkID=unt-athletics&shopperContext=&caller=&appCode=

After basketball was swept by UTSA this year, 3-0, it'd sure be nice for softball to reclaim those games with a sweep in San Antonio against an 8-19 Roadrunners team.

Tylor Perry leading K State to a 78-74 win over Texas. Cincinnati up by 13 on Kansas at halftime. 3-28 Depaul leading Villanova 40-35 with 12-and-a-half to go.

WBB conference quarterfinal vs. Rice (3/11/24)
Matt from A700 replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Rice is up 17 with a quarter left in the final. It looks like we are going to be the champion's closest game in their monster conference tournament run. Regardless of the 10 seed, they have had a lot of good women's teams. -

We should get a WNIT bid, too. We got one a few years ago at 17-12. -

I'm more at peace now that UTSA was eliminated. After giving up only 16 in the first half to Tulane. -
Combining the men's and women's conference seasons (including tournament play): Against AAC legacy teams: 17-3 Against CUSA refugees: 6-11

Only bright side of the basketball women bowing out of the conference tourney early is now you don't have to choose which game to go to today. 6 pm tuneup game before resuming conference play at UTSA this weekend. Green out the Lace, or catch the game on ESPN+.

WBB conference quarterfinal vs. Rice (3/11/24)
Matt from A700 replied to Matt from A700's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Morning after and it still hurts. We had a really good path to the NCAA Tournament with Tulsa and Charlotte going down. The only remaining team that had beaten us was UTSA twice, in games we blew. Women follow the same theme as the men, struggle more against the CUSA refugees (5 of their 6 conference losses) than the AAC teams. Proving we belong in this conference. -
WBB conference quarterfinal vs. Rice (3/11/24)

Big choke job by Kernal at the end, but way too many missed free throws and turnovers overall. We had less turnovers in the second half but when we did have them, they were at terrible times. -

At the past timeout, the arena played a video highlighting the SMU championship football team, resulting in a loud rain of boos. -
WBB conference quarterfinal vs. Rice (3/11/24)

Lots of turnovers and missed free throws so far. And Rice makes a lucky bank shot to take the 1-point lead at halftime. -
Who do we think is the homecoming opponent this year? September 28th against Tulsa may be too early but might be the best pick. Winnable game and by itself wouldn't be a high seller. October 26th against Tulane I don't like the date and will still be a tough game. November 9th against Army is winnable but I think would be a good attended game regardless. Just wish we could also bring back the parade.

I'll be there tonight. If they advance I won't be able to make it tomorrow because of the 8pm start but I'd make sure to be there for the championship game. -
That's three of our five conference losses eliminated. If ECU beats UTSA tomorrow that'd be all five.

Mean Green Tudor Takeover - Saturday, 3/9 @ 7pm

Why was he dressed like he waited tables at Olive Garden? I had no idea he was also the ESPN+ guy until he interviewed Rubin at the end. -
Mean Green Tudor Takeover - Saturday, 3/9 @ 7pm

When watching highlights the team tweeted, I heard the female broadcaster mentioning the large UNT crowd going wild after Jason's and-1 to put us up by eight. After rewatching the last couple minutes of the game, though, the dude bugged me on a couple of things. I know ESPN+ is always gonna be a local crew, but when Rubin gets taken out so he can get the standing ovation, no comment is made about it, even though it is louder than the "ovation" a few minutes before for as couple of the Rice seniors. Instead he talks about the other Rice senior going out, even though in the background all you can see are green shirts standing, clapping, and looking in the other direction. He also doesn't seem to realize at the end that we still had time on the shot clock when Jason made that last 3: "He was gonna let them just dribble it out, but whatever. Maybe they'll see each other in the conference tournament." -
I think it's true in many sports at different levels - except maybe high school where there are less upsets. First thing I think of is the Cowboys' choke to the 9-7 Giants in the divisional round the year NYG ruined the Pat's perfect season.

If TAMU (18-13) has a quick conference tourney exit and we win three games, hosting the Ags or a trip to Aggieland for an NIT game would be fun. IIRC the last time we played A&M resulted in one of the most surprising wins of the Benford era.

Did MTSU make the right decision in staying?
Matt from A700 replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
Is there a point in the future where there wouldn't be an exit fee to leave CUSA?
