I absolutely agree. I think NCAA is in need of changes. I can’t see us continuing down this path the way things are going. I do think the American is going to be wide up next year. Will be interesting which team has most success this off season reloading.

I’m sure this was meant to be a facetious comment.. but outside of Maclin, Ayo, Wilson, Miner and Febechi I don’t see staff losing any sleep over any one else that has hit portal so far. And 3 of the 5 I listed were walk ons and 1 of the others only offer out of portal was UNT. Sucks losing them. But it’s happening to everyone. There is over 1000 guys in portal right now. Almost 10 per team

This is college football in 2024. Oklahoma State lost 12 guys last year first day of transfer portal. They just played for a conference championship last week. The roster was lacking depth and talent there is no two way around it. North Texas lost a couple guys that they got out of the portal that we didn't win huge recruiting battles for that came to north texas and became all confernce players (Miner, Maclin, Ayo and Nwaiwu). The RB and WR I am not super concerned with replacing. The OL will be tough. as for the other 13 there is several depth guys and walk on that wouldn't have seen the field. The coaches need to hit on evals is the biggest factor. There are over 1000 kids in portal. There are more kids than spots. But North Texas has had to many walks on out perfoming scholarship guys the last 3-4 years.

Logan Wilson getting an offer from BIG 12 Houston who didn’t have a head coach till this morning and had staffers throwing out offers to every one and their dog?? What other offer does Logan Wilson have… Ball State.. we have only pulled two offers to my knowledge. A 5’10 Lber who everyone on the board was complaining about prior.. and a RB we were going to try to develop into a LBer who is injured. We took an injure lber last year from Oklahoma. I can see why you don’t want to spen two scholarships on project linebackers rehabbing. Need spots available for guys who can help.

Millwood Ath Micho Lavine announced his decommitment Saturday night from North Texas. It frees up another spot in the 2024 signing class as Head Coach Eric Morris looks to revamp this Mean Green line up. I am hearing from sources that this offer was pulled. I do not know the specifics currently. I don’t think we have lost anyone yet that we won’t be able to upgrade. Maclin hurts. But I believe with this offense you will be able to replace. The center will be the hardest to upgrade. But he wasn’t a world beater at ark state. He took off this year. Wilson was encouraged to leave. So I am not sure which other portal entry you are afraid of not being able to upgrade.
