This is not the case IMO. You must look at who left. For instance, if you have 12 Linebackers. Only one linebacker leaves you cannot go out and bring in 8 linebackers. You only have 85 scholarships to play with. They must be equally divided up. I am putting together a list of who left and who replaced them. I think it will help visualize the reasoning behind the additions.

Maclin was a 400 yard receiver before Eric Morris arrived. I don’t think it’s crazy talk to think someone else will come up to fill that void.

1. Pavia is also the guy that pissed on the New Mexico logo. Not sure he is the face you want leading your program. He came to visit to North Texas last week. Sounds like we could have landed if we wanted. But Morris was always the top target. Pavia completed almost 10% less of his passes than Morris did the last two years. That could play a big factor when evaluating QBs for an air raid system. 2. I understand the injury concerns. Frank Harris was pretty injury proned but he was able to win quite a bit. 3. It has been said on here numerous times. I trust Morris and their judgement when it comes to Quarterbacks.

Give me one reasonable target you would have rather us signed? Signing a QB that won starting job in the Big 12 2 years in a row and has two years of eligibilty seems like a pretty good win to me. Not to mention Morris having multiple 6 figure NIL offers on table. It seem like a pretty big recruiting win for me.

I have not been super excited with the defensive recruiting. If it was my choice I would have went much heavier in the portal. But there is still time to add player after spring before fall.
