I didn't think there were more than 4,500 at the game last night. I hope we can hit 5 digits on Halloween.

I got a response on my first email from someone at the school saying, "thank you for writing the president. I will make sure to share your email with him". I guess I'll have to wait a couple more days to see if he'll actually respond.

We faced a challenge in responding after a loss to North Dakota, and respond we did. At North Texas the weather was hot, the crowd was loud, and it was their homecoming. But all of this meant nothing to us. All we were focused on was playing to the best of our abilities. No matter what happened on that field, every man promised to leave nothing out there. And now we are on a plane ride home with nothing but smiles. We knew that we could play with North Texas. Many people are quick to assume an FBS team automatically reigns over an FCS team. But just like the Washington State game, it really did not matter what North Texas did. Because as long as every player executed their assignment on both sides of the ball, the outcome would take care of itself. We struck quick, making it a 14-0 game by the end of the first quarter. I believe that North Texas was not expecting to face such an aggressive team, and I am talking about both the offense and defense. As a defense, we made our presence felt from the first snap. We were vicious tacklers and our coverage was very precise in how it was run. The offense established the run game early, making North Texas wary of the run, then taking them deep down field when they least expected. Both offense and defense were clicking, and more importantly, both were having fun doing so. After we got up 21 points, it was clear to see that North Texas did not carry the same energy. Any competitor knows that when you have an opponent down, you do not let up. Momentum has the ability of shifting at any time during a game, and teams use this to make a run when down. Our job as a defense was to make sure they felt as if there was nothing they could do. And with a 66-7 win, I think we did a decent job. But the most encouraging part about the whole game was halftime. We went into halftime up 45-0. Most would expect the winning team to enter the locker room in a loose, nonchalant manner. But we went in focused, ready to make corrections, with intensity at an all-time high. It seemed no different from any other game we have played this year. The team realized that the first half did not matter anymore, and we had two more quarters to play. It was a true sign of a mature football team. And I believe that this maturity will continue to bring us success. It was a great time going into someone else's house on their homecoming, and seeing a majority of the fans leave by halftime. But all good things must come to an end. We enjoyed this win on Sunday, but now it is back to the drawing board. We are facing an extremely tough opponent in Montana State, and that is who our focus is on now. That win is behind us, and it is time to reapply ourselves as we enter this week of practice. Once again, I cannot wait to see you all as we take on the MSU Bobcats on Saturday, 12:30 p.m. at Providence Park. Let's get the stands rocking again! Roll Viks!

UNT 31 Portland St 10 Mac's post game comments- "This is a big win for our program. Portland St has a great team and a great tradition. Andy played well out there, he really did a good job taking care of the football. We're going to build on the things we did right today and carry that into our next game against another great program, Western Kentucky." WKU stomps us by 50+ 5 days later. We go 1-11. And we get a new AD who cleans house.

I'd love to be wrong and have us be competitive in this game. But the last thing I want is for it to be a 38-17 game where we never really had a chance to win and all week long we hear Mac say "We did a lot of good things out there, Iowa is a good program, # 5 did a lot of good things out there, more generic coach speak" and nothing is changed for the rest of the season. Bottom line is something needs to be changed. We should not be this bad. I'd gladly take a complete ass kicking in a money grab game if that means it'll shake up things around this program.

I don't see McCarney taking McNulty out for any reason vs Iowa, no matter how bad he plays or how much we're getting beat by. I hope this team gets shut out and blown out so that Mac's hand may be forced moving forward if he wants to keep his job.

Think about the buzz Leach would bring to the program. The local media would start paying attention to the program, season ticket sales would go through the roof, and it would be huge for recruiting. We'd begin to play exciting football and might actually win for a change.

I see this game playing out a lot like the La Tech game last year. Rice- 49 UNT-17 Damarcus Smith comes into the game in the 4th and leads UNT to our 2 touchdowns for the game. I think Smith will get a chance to go into the game before Greer does.

We fire all 3. Then we bring in a new AD who actually engages the community and delivers on increasing MGC membership, increasing season tickets sales for all sports, and finally brings baseball to the school. We bring in Mark Mangino to lead the football team to the promise land. We bring in Fran Fraschilla to make the basketball team respectable again.

I still don't understand that logic being used for McNulty last year. He had 6 TDs-7 INTS, and a 54% completion rate. What we saw Saturday was a vintage Andy Mac performance.

At least you've made contact with someone in the office. I called several times over the last week and sent an email today, but I still haven't had anyone get back to me. I have 0 faith that anyone associated with our athletic department can get anything done.

Does Mac know that UT had the ball for only 16 minutes on Saturday? Or that they only ran 38 plays as an offense? They didn't have much time or much of a need to open it up.
