  1. Davis Webb might be leaving Tech as well. There are lots of good transfers on the market, we just need to snag 1 of them. That'll give Littrell a little time to find a HS QB he wants for his system.
  2. How the hell has Benford outlasted coach Mac?! Dont get me wrong Mac needed to go, but at least he had something to hang his hat on! Mac can't even stay to the end of a season, but Benny gets to keep running this program into the ground year after year. This is the worst basketball team I've seen in my life. Only at North Texas...
  3. Keep in mind this number is with us playing the other Texas schools in our conference at home this year. Think about how much worse it would've been had those games been on the road
  4. It comes from the Old TCU coach Dutch Meyer. "Fight 'em til hell freezes over, and the fight 'em on ice!"
  5. Does anyone have any club tickets they are looking to sell for the UTEP game? I need somewhere between 2-6 tickets if at all possible.

  7. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14120644/kirk-ferentz-bob-stoops-iowa-legendary-1983-staff-make-impact-2015-playoff-race Coach Fry had a helluva staff back in '83. Here is the part about Mac. Dan McCarneyIowa defensive line coach: 1983 Iowa State head coach: 1995-2006 North Texas head coach: 2011-2015 Career record: 79-116 It was such an amazing group of people. Coach probably saw things in all of us that we didn't even see in ourselves. He had such an ability to empower you. He had what he expected, what needed to get done, but he let you do it in your own personality. I don't remember one time in 11 years him ever chewing one of us out individually. He's say things like, "A couple of you guys better get your butts in gear and do a better job of recruiting." And of course you are you thinking, "Well, who the hell are those couple of guys?" So he obviously kept everybody on edge. None of us, I think, would have ever become a head coach if not for Hayden Fry and the opportunity he gave us. You don't want to sit around and pat yourself on the back, but I think he just saw there was loyalty, there definitely had to be some talent there and there were guys who really responded to challenges and obstacles. I never ever wanted him to let him down, to regret hiring me. Coach Fry would tell us, "I don't want guys on this staff who don't want to be head coaches." I don't think any of us doubted we all had that down deep, but we didn't sit around talking about it. We were too consumed with our day-to-day responsibilities. There are only 128 Division I [FBS] head coaches in America. And to look at all of us that got opportunities to become had coaches, it's really amazing, it really is.
  8. I thought we also had a RB from San Antonio and an Austin Westlake WR committed. Either way, recruiting has been terrible this year.
  9. We all need to pitch in for a "UNT90 for AD" banner. Maybe we can get a discount if we can fly both banners on the same plane.
  10. I think it'd be more fair to say that he had 3 seasons with less than 6 wins. One season he went 6-6 and they didn't go to a bowl, another they went 6-7 because they lost the bowl game.
  11. Paul Rhoads is doing everything he can right now to save his own neck. The ISU offense under Mangino is ranked 59th in the nation by ESPN. That puts them ahead of Florida St (60), Marshall (64), West Virginia (67),Texas A&M (69), and UNT (111). If there is any truth to the DFW sports wire tweet that he is our #1 targert then you need to also acknowledge that they say he was let go because Rhoads didn't want him interviewing for our job. He wouldn't be my #1 choice for a coach, but all I'm saying is we could do way worse. What retread would you rather have?
  12. He also won more bowl games in his 8 seasons at KU than UNT has won all time.
  13. 50-48 at Kansas doesn't strike you as impressive? I think it's pretty damn impressive since he did it during a time when the Big 12 was arguably the best conference in college football. We could do a helluva lot worse than Mark Mangino as our HC.
  14. I'd be all for getting Holgorson if he became available.

  16. http://www.dfw.com/2015/06/11/1004100/mansfield-summitt-basketball-star.html “If I can go to college and play both, I’m definitely going to do it, like off the top,” Hollis said. “If that’s what I can do, then I’ll do it. If I had to pick one, I don’t know which one I’d pick yet, honestly.” Garrett certainly would endorse him playing more football. “He told me very humbly that he’s a big-time basketball player, too, but I told him nobody guarded him for three hours so maybe you should think about playing more football,” Garrett said. “He seems to like it a lot and he’s certainly darn good at it.”
  17. The students in the left and right sections of the picture seemed pretty spaced out to me. I think both of those may have been about half full if you got them all to sit side by side. The end zone was pretty much empty, and I had a buddy watching the game on tv that counted 8 people in the wing when they showed it in the first quarter. Even if we had the 10,000 they claim we did, that is a pitiful number. We need a hire that'll energize this team and fan base.
