  1. One of the strongest guys on the team... surprised it didn't work out for himself at NT given his size and strength.
  2. It's weird to see the negative comments about him come to light now that he found a landing spot. I say go with God Mr. Gumms. Leave it at that.
  3. a few questions: 1. How far are you from Little Rock? 2. Do you ship? 3. Any recommended deep freezer brands, pending responses to questions 1 and 2?
  4. Ken Bahnsen... had to do some digging for this one.
  5. If he is half as good a shooting coach as he was as a shooter, Stone is about to level up.
  6. I am happy to offer you your first down vote for this comment. He's moving on. He was great for us and now will be great somewhere else. That's life. His legacy is cemented here but, whether he should be a HOF guy is a fair debate. Showing kids you can play on the highest level regardless of size or where you are from seems like a good lesson to me. To leverage your skills to get a free education and three degrees doesn't seem half bad either. For his final trick, he'll probably take a shot at the G-league path to the NBA before going on to a wildly successful career in the international leagues. And when he returns, every coach and teammate he ever had will bend over backward to help him become successful in whatever else he chooses to do. He has earned it. We will move on to the next season as always.
  7. Underrated name because he is still ballin overseas, but Shannon Shorter would be an excellent addition in a junior role on Hodge's staff. If he is ready to retire and come on home. Shorter played for Hodge in JC before coming to UNT.
  8. I actually take it as a very good sign that the fans don't really know anything about what went on behind the scene with Abou. The fact that you could lose a starter under less than ideal circumstances, no matter what caused it, and still win a tournament while keeping a lid on team business in the media is kind of refreshing. I wish him well and anticipate that we will have a replacement recruited in the coming months. I also anticipate a HS big man will get recruited also.
  9. I hope we can keep Matt Braeuer here instead of him going to Tech.
  10. He has been a head coach on multiple levels before and has done very well. Also, he recruits many of our better underrated players from the lower levels. Lastly, he has been offered a couple jobs while an assistant here. I think he chose to stay here because he wanted this job and he should get it. I'm more concerned about the assistants that stay here versus those who go with Mac. Hodge seems to have good connections so I think we will be fine.
  11. I assumed he is gone because he chose to participate in senior night. Same with Kai but I think Kai is completely out of eligibility. If TP is out, I think Rubin Jones has the skill to take over as the main scorer but he will need an injection of offensive confidence to do it. Basically, give him the complete greenlight to create for himself.
  12. I have a weird feeling he would be who Mac tries to take to Tech. Or Aaron.
  13. I screamed sit down at the TV when Tylor hit that step back.
  14. I just rewatched the introductory press conference for Grant and he has done EXACTLY what he said he would do.
  15. I agree... honestly, I think he sees that the team won't be as good next year and his time to move up is right now. I have faith in Rubin, Abou, and Aaron, but we would need to see a flashback to HS Rubin for us to have a remote chance of being as good next season. Defense wins so I don't think we'll be bad but I think Mac knows it's time.
  16. I don't understand this thread at all... Why is everyone so sure it's OU? I haven't seen anything that indicates that he even knows where he wants to go. Maybe he saw what the playbook is looking like after all the pre-spring install and decided to go elsewhere. Gumms is a freakish athlete and could be very productive if he was used more consistently. We barely used the TE as a pass catcher for the past several years so why would Littrell be enticing for him? I just do not get what all the hoopla is about someone leaving. Any of these guys are free to go at anytime... life and the season will go on. Good luck to him wherever he goes. The odds of making it to or on the next level don't automatically go up because he goes to a bigger school, but I hope he finds a better fit for his goals. I hope UNT finds a better fit for our football team.
  17. If he plays defense as hard as he goes for dunks, can you imagine a 1->3 of Rubin, this kid, and Aaron????? Longest back court.
  18. When I was in school, the basketball underclassmen lived at Mozart Square right by the super pit.
