If they are both a part of the UNT System how does annex versus stand alone differ. It also seems like both market areas should be potential strengths for the Mean Green family over time.

It did happen previously. It didn’t make much of an impact on the crowd, nice, but wasn’t spectacular. The bird just wasn’t all that visible. Maybe there could be a better coordinated production at this stadium. (Or maybe Scrappy could take a flying leap out of a helicopter !). GMG

Yeah, I remember spring practices by the Fouts Field parking lot.

There used to be significant visible Dallas media coverage of North Texas when it had win streaks and great seasons for both basketball and football. Living in Dallas then I really looked forward to the tv and hard copy sports reports. Now there is nothing , even with consecutive win streaks. Metroplex NT fans don’t get the excitement from the Dallas press anymore. Has the Dallas media been bought off ? Just sayin...

The Blakeley years and teams were so electric. Remember Stan Blackman intimidating SMU when we played them at Moody. Great years in the Super Pit.

Yes. On a side note. Rod Rust, Fry’s predecessor, went to the New England Patriots after he was fired here.

I remember the day so well. As a young NTSU student I bumped in to Coach Fry on Highland St by the old athletic building. I knew that very day something different was going to happen. It was almost tangible. Coach Rust was gone , end of an era, and things felt electric.

I remember this dreadful wrong turn for North Texas athletics. I was a young fan/ student who grew up in Dallas and just felt betrayed after so much HOPE of building a credible D1 program in Texas and the Metroplex. All I can say now to you guys who care and bleed GREEN is “Don’t give up again.” Be loud, expect more ! There’s not a damn thing wrong with being proud of the Mean Green.

Can’t agree entirely. Even guys who play on the defensive side of the ball for NT told me that “they” let that one (UTSA) slip away . The team lost the game, not Anne.
