The only problem I have with these rankings is the reasons for putting UNT third in the west. They should be ranked third but because its biggest producers on offense and defense need to be replaced this offseason. The entire defensive line, the quarterback, the first string RB, a new kick and punt returner, the top two WRs and worst of all the heart and soul of the team on defense. UTSA is easily the best team in the west and the Mean Green have a lot of work to do. I'm not worried about the QB position. Williams should be a great replacement for Thompson and the duo of Jimmerson and Pegram should easily provide a running game. WR and the defense is where the Mean Green faithful should have serious concerns. But if there is one thing that does not worry me at all, it's Coach McCarney. He'll get this team ready and competitive for the 2014 campaign.

Check ESPN, they have the Mean Green playing in the HOD Bowl against either Notre Dame or Northwestern. Better matchups I think. Imagine what it would mean for UNT to defeat a team with a history like ND. Huge opportunities for the program right there. -
I would love to predict that there will be even 25000 people there but I don't even think they will reach that mark in each of these next two games. The numbers will increase but just not by that standard. Remember how much of a commuter school UNT is and how many non-traditional students there are at this University. 36,000 students yes, but hardly a fraction of them live on campus. UNT wont have 28000 or sellouts on a consistent basis until housing on and around campus is increased. the stadium opener against Houston is going to be Apogee's highest mark for a while, but there is no reason to constantly try and get more people at these games.

But this team is winning more than ever right now and is on the cusp of having a three game winning streak with a three game homestand right around the corner. If any Sports Journalist or News outlet in the metroplex doesnt know about this team then they need to be fired. The only thing is, people are ignoring it because this team has not been story for about a decade now. These next two weeks will get this team noticed. If UNT beats USM and puts up a fight against Rice, this team could finish the season with 7 wins, and even 9 wins is still a possiblity. All the teams on the remaining schedule are beatable.
