  1. McNulty didn't look much worse than Derek Thompson today, I don't think. He has bad pocket awareness and doesn't really improvise, but he can complete simple routes, even that deep pass to Harris. The line is just worse than it was two years ago and the backs aren't as consistent. A killer running game propped Thompson up as much as anything and McNulty doesn't have that.
  2. Hey GMG, I'm writing a story promoting Mean Green game days for the Denton Live magazine, looking at both the specific experience of attending a game and the atmosphere provided by Denton as a city. That's something you guys represent and can explain really well, so I was hoping to chat with a few people who actively attend games (Denton residents or not) tonight or in the next few days. All it will take is five minutes on the phone. If you can drop me a pm if you're interested and available I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks! EDIT: Thanks to those who got in touch and messaged me about this, I got everything I needed.
  3. I could have picked a better lead example, as the last LOS player in my example doesn't really crash but is focused in on the running back, which isn't always indicative of what that play produces.
  4. Unsure if you guys saw this, but just wanted to mention that I'll be doing some stuff for Underdog Dynasty throughout this season when I can. Here's my debut. http://www.underdogdynasty.com/2014/9/22/6800117/why-dajon-williams-and-the-zone-read-can-bring-new-life-to-the-mean
  5. This makes me feel uncomfortable.
  6. To be fair, it seems like that stat is pretty biased towards efficiency over raw numbers. The two highest QBR's this season belong to Kevin Ellison (http://espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=400547773) and Zach Terrell (http://espn.go.com/ncf/boxscore?gameId=400548110), both of who have pretty underwhelming statlines even compared to Dajon's. ...and there I go raining on the parade, sorry, not my intention. I just really don't like stats that don't tell the full story.
  7. Eh, the coaches have seen what he can do and so there's no reason to trot him out in the second half of an absolute massacre. McNulty playing just means he's the garbage time QB; if Dajon were to go down or fall off, Greer would be the one coming in for him.
  8. Seriously. I don't think I've ever seen a receiver run while celebrating a touchdown without the ball in his hands, and least to spike or throw it.
  9. I looked into it a couple of years ago out of curiosity, when I had more free time and wasn't the SBN Mavs blog manager. It would have to have been a situation like Adam said, where an establish MGN blog approached SB Nation and asked to join the fold. I'd love to occasionally contribute if someone ever got it up and running.
  10. co-sign. i'm interested but would personally prefer a simpler design like this.
  11. Yeah, I thought of that when he said it, too. I guess he was exaggerating just a little bit.
  12. I think I tweeted everything worth mentioning. UNLV's head coach is coming up next to close it out.
  13. To be technical, UTSA probably should have gone penalized for rushing the field when there was still time on the clock. Not a complaint, just another oddity that stemmed from that wack ending.
  14. Good gosh, Keith Coleman just missed a wide-open two-handed dunk and THEN got a tech for hanging on the rim. Would have cut it to five points. Instead, Oklahoma hits two free throws. huge swing...
