NORTH!!!!!

I'm planning on stopping by and meeting some faces to go with screen names this afternoon. I'll have two of my brothers with me as well.
If anyone was to offer us a beer or two, we wouldn't refuse . . .

For the record, I canceled research trips so my grad students can go to the game. I am also giving makeup points to students demonstrating they attended the game. This worked nicely last week. GMG!!
I've been choosing the wrong professors . . .

Words really don't do that stand justice. I was giddy and honestly had no doubt what was about to happen . . . On the first four plays. But that second time around!? Holy crap. Watching that Rice QB run for his life on that second fourth down almost made me feel sorry for the dude.
Almost.
I mean, it's his own dang fault for strolling into Apogee against that defense on Halloween night, am I right!?

That would be...legend.
Wait for it . . .

It's a Joe Namath quote, so it's likely accurate.
I think what he's trying to say is . . .

I was seeing that too, but then it asked me for my zip code/county. After I entered that, it showed up.
I've never had the actual guide on DirecTV ask me for my zip code.

I'm feeling pretty dang good about tomorrow:
Cleveland Browns starting left inside linebacker's Alma Mater: 34
Denver Broncos starting left tackle's Alma Mater: 16

. . . That we knock them backwards. Literally. They will insist their team name is now:

Here's some info, but don't know if it's correct. Appears to be on 617,623,626
It's listed on the DirecTV guide as 608, 623 and 626.
But it also lists "There is no programming available at this time" for 6:00 PM on all three tomorrow.
-
I have DirecTV. It listed it and even recorded it (although I had to do it "manually" for that game because the guide listed nothing at that time.)
However, when I went to watch it . . . nothing but black and silence.
So no, I don't think they have it. They may have it on one of the more extravagant packages, but my lineup definitely doesn't.
That won't stop me from looking to find it again tomorrow, though!

This reminds me of something...
I love me some Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer. Man, I miss Phil Hartman!!!

Meh, their opponents' records are a combined 23-18. Now remember, that record INCLUDES beating Southern Miss six times so you can actually take those six wins out.
This means opponents are 17-18 against everyone else.
If Southern Miss had won all six of those games, then suddenly their opponents' combined W-L would be 17-24.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, bad teams will always have what everyone defines as a "tough schedule" because they actually contribute to their opponents' win totals when they lose. On the flip side, good teams will usually have what many define as "easy schedules" because they contribute to their opponents' loss totals. The only guaranteed way to actually improve your strength of schedule is to, in fact, LOSE a game.
I only see SOS working when you're comparing teams with identical records.
But then again, I'm not a fancy scientist with all these convoluted formulas to figure these things out. I'm just a guy with a video camera, a few microphones and an assortment of audio/video cables.

I heard he is going to focus on his ranch.
I heard he's forming an army consisting of Mike Ditka, Dolf Lundgren, the ghost of General Patton, Dr. Stephen Hawking and Mike Modano to wage an all-out war against the snow monkeys.

I thought Euless had one of the largest concentrations, many Trinity guys going to BYU. Friends with some of them when I went to Irving Mac,maybe we can convince them to stay closer to home.
Tongans, yes. Samoans, not so much.
I grew up in Euless, so I have a bit of an understanding about this.
Back in the day, D/FW airport and I believe San Francisco were the only airports that had direct flights from Tonga. D/FW was less expensive at the time, so most of them chose to fly that route. Euless was the closest city within walking distance, so that was the destination of choice upon landing.
So naturally, Euless became a popular migration place among the Tongan nation. The Tongan community on the island of Tonga is mostly LDS and they are very loyal to that heritage. Because of this, BYU and Utah grab a fair amount of them quite easily.

No, I meant that the lunch stop on the way to Austin is at the Czech Stop, not in Waco.
Kid 1: "Knock knock"
Kid 2: "Who's there?"
Kid 1: "Queen"
Kid 2: "Queen who?"
Kid 1: "Queen my dishes, please."
Kid 3: "It's CLEAN!!!"
AT&T guy: "He doesn't get it."

The eagle on the side of the left one is a bad Photoshop job. It's angled wrong.
That and the "suck it" give it away to me.

Really, really great post! Zach tore it up today and provided the spark that this team needed. Well, both he and Chance did! But this is Zac's thread so all props to him!!

Coach Canales tweeted 3 hours ago practice was over.
So yeah, sounds like an intramural player or an athlete of another sport, perhaps?

The Denton County Scanner on Facebook is reporting a player sustained a "traumatic injury" on the UNT practice field about 30 minutes ago.
Anyone have any details? -

They have 95% confidence in bowl eligibility
11% in us winning conference (40% to Marshall)
23% in winning the division
go to the team stats and you will see some telling numbers. Didn't realize how badly penalized we are thus far.
That's a shame . . . IT flagged that site for some reason.
Oh well.
I like the 95% though. We still have to execute. *Which I think we will, but we're still only halfway there*

I just hope if they do it, they rotate stock. I had some chips the other night that were definitely there for the Houston game.
You're not kidding. I ordered a barbecue sandwich at the Ball St. game that I expected to be "fresh."
They threw the dang thing in the microwave!
Yeah, I'm still burping that thing up.

Some advice for those looking for good Tex-Mex in the Denton area.
Put on a pair of wind pants or sweat pants. (You'll know why post-meal) Get on 377 and head south to Roanoke. Drive past the Wal-Mart and the 114 intersection to the Albertson's parking lot. Turn into it. Drive past the McDonald's and you'll see a little slice of Tex-Mex heaven called Los Molcajetes. It's right next to the liquor store.
Order the Carne Asada. Enjoy the chips and salsa while you wait.
No need to thank me.
