I really liked what I saw from the defense on Saturday. They gave up 31 points but what can you expect when your offense can only score 1 TD. I agree with the others that it was exciting to see our D Line take care of business and make tackles at the line of scrimmage. Blake Bean is the real deal

I think it will be close at half just like the SMU game. Offense will continue to be terrible and our only points will be from field goals. I really like what I saw from the defense last week even though we gave up 31 points. Defense will work their ass off, but can't expect them to hold it down the whole game when the offense won't produce. NT: 9 Rice: 24

Well this was a huge disappointment. Another easy opportunity for the athletic department to come out with something sharp and exciting for players/fans and they failed...again. I really don't understand why they can't get this right when there are some many teams out there coming out with great new Nike uniform combinations. I'm also confused as to why we don't use the uniform game as a bigger recruiting piece. Based on a few reactions on twitter, it looks like there was zero input from the players on these jerseys. GMG

I meant mediocre because I factored in the soccer, softball, and 2013 football teams.

I'm really liking the 0's across the board in that article. I wonder if there will ever be a day where being mediocre will no longer be acceptable for UNT athletics.

I admit and apologize for leaving a little early in the 4th quarter, I was worried that my smoker was going to be stolen. I do agree that winning out the rest of the season will have a huge impact on recruiting but I think it will have the biggest impact on the team and its upcoming leaders. If we do finish 6-6 after having such a rough loss heavy season, it will show how well our young team and great leaders work together. Hopefully that situation will pave the way for future successful seasons with the same type of fight and leadership. "It aint about how hard you hit, it is about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward."

And how exactly do you know what goes on in a fraternity if you have never been in one? I was in the Marines and deployed just like you but some of my closest friends who I call "brothers" came from my time in a fraternity. We have guys in my fraternity that have deployed and we have a few guys going into the military to be officers after they graduate so this isint just some party organization that causes trouble like you think. Your opinions of a fraternity are based off of bs and I can only assume that you have these feelings because you spent most of your time sitting in some dorm on campus and never got invited to greek life events. Don't talk trash when you spend most of your time playing with action figure toys, pretending to be Captain America. And I may be wrong but during my time in the Marines, we all wore the same shoes "combat boots," lived in the same barracks/tent, and drank more than anyone so that sounds a lot like your description of a fraternity. Greek life has done a lot for this school and has always shown support and helped attendance at UNT football games.

I know. I was just trying to share some morning motivation.

Greer looked the best out there. He has good height/size, good arm, and it is evident that he knows what he is doing from his JC experience. Means had a few good plays too but I hope the starting QB battle goes down to Williams and Greer. The receivers made some good catches and I can’t wait to see the Jimmy Show in the fall. Defense gave up a few big plays in the secondary but I like what I saw from the linebackers on the Green and White team. Defensive line looked pretty good but they did have a couple off sides penalties. Beat UT. GMG

We should hire Mike Ditka to take over the recruiting coordinator position

As a veteran, the Armed Forces bowl would be great since so much is done before and during the game for the military. I'm praying for the HOD bowl because I dont think playing Navy would be as great a game as it would be playing an opponent selected for the HOD bowl. Also I get Jan 1 off and I dont want to have to do the rock bottom to other employees in my office to have Dec. 30 off.

Our defense is the best in the nation. We should be playing Alabama
