Whats the consensus on the SMU performance at TX State?

I think we all lost interest as our game tonight started, but TX State held it close to the exalted P6 SMU/Dallas Show Ponies.  As I remember it last season, as "good" as SMU was, they weren't blowing teams out, even AAC teams they were supposed to be much better than.  I also understand TX State had a lot of transfers, but I still wasn't expecting much from them.

I'm sure SMU will come in swinging.  Maybe our only saving grace is there's not much tape on Mean Bean, but I still think our DL and OL rarely rise to the level of our opponents (they do like to fall to the level of our opponents if they're worse, ala Houston Baptist).

I hate getting embarrassed by SMU almost every year.

I blanked out on the rest of that. I’m just here to affirm that Mean Bean™️ is in and String Bean™️ is out.

My parking has a barcode in my Apple wallet but the tickets do not.  When you get to the ticket, click on the black circle in the upper righthand corner with the three white dots (sorry - no idea what it is called).  The QR code is showing in there.

Not sure if that's a common problem or a solution for everyone, but that works on my iPhone.  At least I hope that's the right QR code....

If your phone has contactless payment capabilities, note that the ticket will have the “tap” gesture animation and the words “hold near reader” beneath it. This is a wireless way for the reader to scan tickets by Bluetooth. The QR barcode is the backup method on the same ticket.

I know Wren and Co will be more strict than those people down in the deep south

Oh for sure, and that's great in a "we got our house covered" individualist mindset. But like all things pandemic, true solutions require more of a collectivist frame. If our opponents don't take care of business as well as we do and start to drop out, then there goes our season along with them.

I didn’t see the STs before...  how on earth are you gonna put “or” by your 1st team all-conference kicker, unless he’s in the doghouse?

And so Mooney is going to be the first on our team to take the number 0 now being offered for the first time as well...

My guess is the semester will end in everyone being sent home for online school and football will be cut short if it starts at all.  Hope I am wrong!  I’ll hang up and listen.

Well, you’re already half-correct. It was announced much earlier in the summer that the Call semester would end fully online remote after the Thanksgiving Break to prevent potential spread from family travel. Lots of schools have signed onto that including public grade schools I believe.

The last word that faculty received last week was that fall enrollment count was up by 2.5% thus far. Student retention is also up considerably. If these numbers hold, what UNT has managed to do in terms of student enrollment in this environment is nothing short of impressive.

Huge increase in new Master's students to boot, which was a population we were lagging in for the last seven years.
