  1. Let me go ahead and list all of your excuses for low attendance; Not winning, competing with the Rangers, Cowboys, Mavs, TCU, SMU, too many things to do in DFW, do I need to continue? I honestly don't think you guys would want me to, since UH is also in a pro sports city filled with many other things to do, yet we still sell out our stadium.

    Says who ?

    Astros, Texans, Rockets

    The defense rests.

Yeah, I wouldn't go jumping on how awesome of a Pro Sports town you all are. The Rockets made some interesting acquisitions over the summer, but even their GM admitted he wasn't fully confident in them in a Reddit AMA last week. So I reject your argument there.

Culturally, you all are abysmal. I will again concede to the existence of Rothko Chapel and opera - yeah, your opera is decent - but otherwise, absolutely abysmal.

  2. Nope.

I believe the main structure is weathering steel which is a low alloy steel that "rusts" to a point and then no longer corrodes. This outer layer of rusts keeps you from having to maintain the weight bearing aspect of the structure - no painting, no sand blasting etc etc every few years - and more importantly no damage to structural steel over time.

    Innnnnterrreeesssssting.

    YESSSSSSSSSS.

they had to do it in the parking lot behind victory and it was just not the same.

Though it was scary; it blazed up at one point and fanned out much beyond its safe zone.... Or wait, was that the year before.... ??

Regardless, i love the way they're doing it with that isolated little peninsula within the lake, NW side of Apogee.

  4. I'm still an undergrad and possibly a future walk-on first off.

    You're a possible future walk-on?? Hahahahahahahahahaha.

    *breathe*

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

    *breathe*

    Good luck with that.

Also, next year's Big East is the stupidest conference imaginable. Like, it promotes the image that US students do not understand geography. How the hell does one justify San Diego State of freaking California being in the Big EAST. The movie "Idiocracy" is fast upon us.

  5. Sure they have gotten better but I'm sorry guys.... GT is not a Bama, LSU, Georgia or KSU. This is exactly the type of team we need to schedule. GT barely beat the horrible Miami team we saw earlier in the year.

True, but they're historically not push-overs. They've had the 3rd-highest rushing going into this game (yes I realize triple-option will give you those stats).

I spent the first 16 years of my life in Atlanta, and no one would ever ever say that GT is a down and out sort of team. Hiccuping occasionally, but not down and out.

All that being said, MTSU is playing really, really well.

  6. I don't miss the Wings --- and them barfing on the sideline.

As far as I can tell, there's still a pretty fratty presence of so-called "Wings" peeps that at least make themselves available for tailgating. I always hoped though they'd populate our new "wings" as it were and keep my wife and I at least in a crowd.

The parents up there Saturday night was cool though.

  7. Remember me mentioning the committee under Dr. With, the ESPN2 committee specially formed to max out attendance for that game. Do you further remember the announcement for the "Two-for-Tuesday" ticket deal for said game day? $10 for two GA tickets to the Wings. Really nice and all, but I think athletics and Dr. With should bite the financial bullet and go out guns blazing on this one:

Let students have a free +1, heck, just give out as many free tickets as possible. Really, the financial loss in such would be far diminished by the social and perceptive impact of getting Apogee packed for the ESPN2 game. Plus, the perception would carry over into potential viewership and could positively impact for years to come.

Anything and everything should be done to get butts in those seats.

  8. Park in and around Denia. They love us.

What?? Careful, the city has developed a parking pass for the neighborhood, you'll get towed in an instant. Do hope you were joking.

I believe all commuter and residential parking lots are open on the weekend. D and A lots you should park in at your own risk.

You can park in the lot just east of the Super Pit and be just fine.

Past 3PM on Fridays, all G, P, and R lots are free game, through the weekend. The D and A lots will differ on location, check the signage nearest these spaces.

  9. Can the pedicabbies get people from the Red/Blue lot (or the bottom of the hill) around to the Alumni Pavilion (Green lot)?

Ooh, good one. That's not one we have attempted before, but I don't see why not. I would take Red/Blue back out to Bonnie Brae or around the Athletic Center offices to the lane in front of Apogee that leads right up into Green and the Pavilion.

I will add one major caveat to all this, most all the cabbies, whether they be DentonPedicabbers like me or the Sprockets guys tend to make our way out there around 2PM. Granted, that's too late for a lot of folks who set up much earlier, but such timing tends to maximize our cash production to energy-spent ratios.

I myself always try to get out just a little earlier, but stop at 5 on the dime. Essentially, I want to party too and as my wife is a staffer with Alumni, I typically hang out at the Pavilion as well then.
