You got it. That's what we call breakaway speed. How often is he caught from behind when he breaks free? This is the real test of his speed.

Not to mention Murray was in basically the whole game. It wasn't like they pulled him one drive after halftime because the game was in hand. He was throwing all game and often. When you play the #9 team in the nation that sports a Heisman-quality RB and you play another team with one of the best QBs in the nation, they're gonna put some yards on you.
-
I don't think he's a high risk. If we were bringing him in to play qb then I'd say high risk.High risk, high reward recruit.
I like it,
We're bringing him in to contribute which I think he will do. Return specialist to start his career and later could be a guy to get a few carries and/or a few catches a game.
As we saw last year when Jimmerson and Chancellor went down, you need to have a few playmakers to spare.

ThisWho cares. It's either a 4.49 or 4.5 depending on sites. In the end 40's don't matter. Just watch the film

Yup, good catch!Found this from the DRC story of the Ryan game last Friday...
Wearing a green UNT wristband during the game.
Also, for a kid averaging almost 12 yards a carry he is pretty big. Not a little speedy scat back. Should be interesting to watch this recruiting progress.
-
Wow. That's awesome! These DeSoto kids will contribute hereJohnavon Graham (our Desoto commit) just tweeted that White committed to North Texas. White retweeted so this might be a bit more than just an offer!
-
Senior running back from Ryan who we are apparently targeting according to Vito. He has rushed for 535 yards, 4 tds, and 11.6 yards per carry according to the article.
No offers according to rivals.

I was wondering, since Rutherford seems pretty big, if he could be a guy we pack some weight on and move to tight end as a pass-catching threat like we did with Marcus Smith. He'd be a very good get for UNT. Doesn't have long speed, but is physical as hell and gets off the ball well for a guy who isn't gonna blow you away vertically.
He would have an offer list similar to Tee Goree if he was a definite qualifier. Goree will likely wind up with a couple BCS offers.
Also, you seem very in the know with regards to East Texas football. Keep us updated with these East Texas kids if you can. Very much appreciated.
-
Got it. Well, if he could qualify he could be quite the weapon.Grades.

What is O'Keeron Rutherford's drawback?Hope UNT makes a strong push at this kid, O'Keeron Rutherford, and Willy Ivery. Three very good players who each have a particular drawback, for lack of a better term, preventing them from being bigger recruits.

Their composite rating is an attempt at compiling an average of a player's rating from all of the major recruiting sites. It's awesome and one of the main reasons that 247 is becoming the most credible recruiting service IMO.What is the difference in the 247 rating of 4 stars and the 247composite rating that is 3 stars?

Yeah, me too. I wanted to post that tweet by McGuire as well. Also, our linebacker commit Jalen Montgomery from Mesquite tweeted about how good White is after the news of the offer broke. White is well respected in the area.Certainly worth the positive PR in my neck of the woods. This will pay dividends. Joey McGuire (Cedar Hill HC) tweeted "they are smart. Kid is amazing".
Wish I had 1 more course in posting tweets!
White is dangerous with the ball in his hands, no matter how small he is.

I wonder if that prof is a UNT alum. Either way it's extremely commendable.
-
He has not committed to us yet.We have to keep this commit at all costs.... guy is a certifiable stud.
I hope he commits as well, but I do have my concerns. Having seen him play three games in person, he is a completely different when he's going against a good player.
He looks great going against average to below average varsity lineman, but I saw him play against Katy and against Allen. He got completely worked all game long by Bobby Evans of Allen. Evans is a junior who is already committed to OU and he made Washington look like a completely different player. Evans at 6'5" showed why Washington's height is an issue and he hasn't received more offers.
All that being said, I hope we get Washington and we can develop him. He has potential, but he has a long way to go.

Absolutely. Hope we get some of these kids.Like how they break out the NT offers from the others. Sends a message about our presence in the area.
These two receivers out of Carthage would be very solid additions. We are losing four senior receivers so incoming guys will have a chance at some spots.

Kick their asses handed to them. I like itLil Montana and crew are going to kick their asses handed to them. Not even going to be close.

Rice held on, 18-14. Mchargue was 9-27 for 66 yards, no tds and 1 int. I wouldn't be surprised if we see more of RS sophomore Driphus Jackson from Cedar Hill, maybe to the point where he is starting by the time they play us. They'd been rotating him in a little bit, but they didn't today. Not sure if he was hurt or not.
Either way, Rice has not been very impressive this year outside of maybe the A&M game.
-
Too fast. They're 0-3 against FCS teams this year.Didn't even know that Georgia State was full-fledged FBS already. That sure happened fast.
-
*MantegnaTulane not looking very good so far. Montana is no Montana.

Kram has a point, but 90, armyofdad, and UNTfan23 are completely right. I get that we should put last season behind us, and I have tried very hard, but I just have no clue how we're supposed to just forget that happened and look forward to this year.
Some are saying that we got rid of some attitudes that caused the downfall of last year's team (TM13 and PJ to name a couple), but who's to say that none of these new guys will cause some locker room discord? Not to accuse guys who haven't done anything wrong yet, but it's a very realistic possibility.
I want to be excited for the year, but looking at things realistically is making it hard to do.
-
I can see why you'd say that, but please JMU. My cousin goes there and they're a darn good team. But Va Tech a few years back.If we do expand, please not JMU. We have over-filled our quota of move-up programs.
You have a very good point, but I personally would like it.
-
Exactly! We're excited about basketball, but since the season hasn't started yet, all we have to talk about is how the season will go based on last year. Needless to say, we have a very sour taste in our mouth after last year.I'm excited about this season. Love some basketball. GMG!

I actually played little league baseball with the guy. I'm starting to think that he will be the qb when we play them. Although he hasn't looked great either.Dane Evans from Sanger is in now at QB for Tulsa.
-
You know first hand from a player's perspective. If you are playing a team and they have a long injury list you can't help but like your chances that much more.Is it wrong to hope they are really banged up when we play? Nothing major, just sore, slow, bruised, and tired. That is not unsportsmanlike, right?

If we had him at qb it would be a risk, or if we had him at running back his size would make it very difficult to run in between the tackles. But his one job is to be dangerous when he's in the open field and our coaches are going to do what they can to get him the ball in the open field a few times a game. Mainly on returns at least to start out his career.
