6'2" 230 lb linebacker for Hutchinson CC, one of the top JUCOs in the country. Has a star studded offer list including Cincinnati, Washington, Miami (FL), and now us. Originally from Louisiana, where he had signed to play for Memphis. We did offer him out of high school and were recruiting him (also offered him then). Plans on enrolling in the spring semester.
Claude George mention in a GMG thread when we were recruiting him out of high school:

6'0" 180 lb safety out of Ridge Point. Has a very impressive offer list including schools like Arizona State, Utah, Colorado, Indiana, Maryland, Kentucky, etc. Interesting to note that his lead recruiter at Indiana is Noah Joseph. We offered today, along with Louisiana Tech. Father Jameel Cook Sr. played in the NFL for the Bucs and Texans.

6'5" 255 lb aptly named offensive lineman from Yukon, Oklahoma. We appear to be the first to have offered.

Commits to Rice.

Keep the rivalries/long-time conference foes playing each other. It's not solely geographic. Missouri is in the SEC East despite LSU, Ole Miss, Miss State, and Alabama all being longitudinally more east than Mizzou. Why would Navy be in the West instead of Cincinnati?

May have been the only time we could've been on FS1.Puts a huge dent in our hopes of selling this game out. 11 am is not going to look appealing to the causal fan.
SN: Another downside to playing 11 am on a Saturday, as it pertains to recruiting, is that most high school players are busy watching film. Not trying to be too nitpicky, just a minor detail.

https://twitter.com/ejsports4/status/471832232198279168I can't find that we ever offered. Scout shows high interest in Baylor only but does not list us as an interest. Ditto for Rivals and 247.

Recruiting sites are slow for us because we don't have any subsites. But we have offered.

Eastern Michigan and now Nevada (as of today) have offered.

6'2" 200 lb linebacker. Had 126 tackles last year, along with 31 tackles for loss and 6 sacks. Has picked up 8 crystal ball predictions in the last month for Baylor, so he appears to be theirs to lose. Also has offers from New Mexico, SMU, Texas State, Duke, Tulsa, and us.

He's listed as an offensive lineman by the recruiting websites, but I think he could be a legitimate D1 prospect at defensive line. I really like his defensive film. Gets off the ball great and knows how to use his hands. It can be hard to showcase your skills as a nose guard. Constantly taking one for the team getting double teamed nearly every play, knowing your job is to free someone else up to make the tackle. But we'll see where our coaches want him.Hopefully we are recruiting him to play DT, if he has the talent.

6'4" 223 lb defensive end from Millwood High School in Oklahoma City. Has offers from Iowa State, Purdue, Washington State, Texas State, Tulsa, and us.

"I might wait to see until the end of the summer and then commit to UNT." Sounds like we're in pretty good shape.

6'3" 262 lb lineman. Played both offensive guards and nose guard on defense last year. District 5-5A honorable mention a year ago as an offensive lineman.

Still this kid's only offer. Has a lot of potential and we only have one true left tackle on our roster currently in Antonio Johnson, who's a senior. Hopefully we can seal the deal on this kid before his senior year. A big senior year and Hughes could see a lot of interest turn into offers.
-
5'11" 175 lb athlete. Could play receiver or safety in college. May also play qb this year for Marcus, as he did as a sophomore. Also holds offers from Air Force, Eastern Michigan, and SMU.

6'0" 185 lb receiver. We appear to have offered. not much on him online (no recruiting site profiles) so we may be his first offer. Had 1071 receiving yards and 9 touchdown receptions last year on 58 catches.

Yup. Which was an AQ conference. No they weren't. They were both in the old Big East I believe.

Because those divisions have 11 game schedules. Which usually puts the champion at 15 games. Which is likely what the FBS champion will play this year.Division 1AA ("FCS") has 24 teams in its tournament. DII has 24 teams. I fail to see why 1A couldn't at least do 16.
It's also a very new phenomenon that any team would play 13 games before a bowl game. Until very recently, all teams played 11 games and there were no conference championship games. It wouldn't be tough to do a 16-team playoff and keep the champion to 16 games or less.
I know 12 game schedules and championship games are relatively new, but they are fixtures at this point. All the P5 conferences but the Big 12 have conf championship games, and they used to and likely will expand to 12 again soon to have one of their own again. More than 3 rounds would put the champion at 17 games played. That's just too much IMO and unnecessary. Again, that's my opinion.
-
But those teams weren't top 8. I agree. I think they should be in the top 8 if they go undefeated and beat two decent out of conference opponents. I think the system would potentially allow for that to happen (for undefeated, proven G5 teams to make it in the 8-team playoff).Want to know how often they would have made it? How often does one make it to a BCS bowl? That's how often a G5 team could make it if they moved from 4 to 8 teams. Utah in 2008 I believe would have been in, NIU if a playoff berth was on the line they would not have dropped the ball against Bowling Green, Boise in 2004, 2006, and 2008 could have made it, UCF this past year could have made it in, Louisville in 2006 and 2012 had a good case, WVU had a good case in 2005, Hawaii in 2007 had a case, etc. There are more out there and there are more than you think. Granted most of these, if any, would have made it to the 4 team playoff bc of SOS. But most of these and more would have held a good argument if it was 8 team playoff.
Also, the Louisville and WVU teams you mentioned we're in AQ conferences.
