We played for the win UTA did a great job covering it. Lawson drove and got a good look bc UTA wasn’t helping off the shooters. We weren’t in the huddle but let’s say Grant drew up the play and said if we don’t get 3 AJ drive and if you got the look take it if not kick it for a 3. I’m okay with that. I wouldn’t have been okay with Lawson taking the 3. The way the refs were calling we could’ve very easily got an And 1 call.

I had high expectations for Simmons I thought he’d start. I get your frustration though bc I’d love to have a guy who could score with his back to the basket. Something we don’t have.

None of it was dumb. I’m fine with the early look bc if it isn’t there or he misses we have time for another shot or set up. Lawson got a great look at the basket off his drive. Yeah I’d love to get the shot off for the upset, but we got the next best thing a quality look. And even off his miss there was time for a put back.

So Simmons is outshining Smart & Duffy? Duffy was working back from an injury and was starting to play really well. Simmons has grown up but he isn’t outshining those two dudes.

They set a down screen for Smart coming off the baseline. It was covered and he kicked it back to Lawson. The intial play was drawn up as a Smart 3.

They ran a set play to get him a 3. Didn’t work out.

Currie got canned bc Fulmer wants that job. The Schiano thing is going to cost UT like 20 million. Currie had Schiano, Brohm, and Leach ready to be hired, but somehow each time it got nixed. Yeah Schiano is back as DC.

Considering where we were and the fact that OU is probably a top 64 team then yes it would've been a massive upset. Im also not sure how they arent more talented then OU's squad last year? The beat Oregon played Arkansas tough. I dont put a lot of stock into exhibition games that dont really mean much. We know UTA is good, but OU is good too

So if we go lose to a better Troy team then there is no hope for next season? The loss would mean multiple decommits? Basically we are back to 1-11? I don’t care who we play or where. I’m all for rewarding the players on a good season. Some of y’all read to much into this shit.

Well I would be hoping for someone we could beat. Good but beatable.

Where is the negative impact going to be felt? Are we going to lose a potential recruit because we lost a bowl game? Probably not. I dont think loosing this game is going to hurt the recruiting effort down the stretch. It wouldnt matter if we lost to FSU or Troy. The impact of a bowl game loss will be minimal. @BillySee58 or @TheReal_jayD can tell me if Im wrong. Not sure how you feel the program is settling.

I wish that was a different opponent. Not the kind of opponent you want if your looking for momentum.
