Because our Tylor Perry transferred there for "greener NIL pastures" and they're now with us in the NIT. Abou Ousmane, who transferred to Xavier is also playing in the NIT.
And both K State and Xavier lost in first round.

Twenty years earlier we lost to Arkansas by two in Little Rock as the referee disallowed a Ramsey to Shanklin TD catch.

And why did they play in practice uniforms ?
You mean the Dallas Ponies uniforms?

Obviously assumes three-man defensive line.

We drew a really tough conference schedule this year. Of 13 potential conference opponents, we played the top four and four of the other nine. Contrast that with the Dallas Ponies semi-pro team that played the bottom four and only four of the top nine.
Plus, our conference schedule gets easier in 2024 with Charlotte (2-6), FAU (3-5), and East Carolina (1-7); and dropping Memphis (6-2) and Tulane (8-0). Of course, this could be subject to change with SMU departing AAC and Army coming in.
I hear a lot of football guys saying the 3-man defensive line cannot work. I tend to agree.
Tech in Lubbock on September 14 and Wyoming in Denton on September 21 will tell us a lot about the rest of 2024.

Assuming other planned games hold, this makes seven home games in 2025.

SMU for sure and possibly Tulsa.

Looking back I think it was good to move on from SL. I am not sure about Morris yet. CUSA is one of the weakest conference in the country (not just this year) and we could not win a championship. Best of luck to SL at OU. This year will be interesting for sure. I am worried about the defense again, with a three man front you have strong lb play. Seems to be a big hole for us.
Seems like UTSA had the same quarterback about half the time we were in CUSA.

6 wins sounds about right. We return a good portion of last year's 7-win team, but I expect some hiccups with a coaching change and possibly some growing pains with a new QB. But if things go well, I don't know if there's a single game on our schedule that's absolutely unwinnable. SMU has been very tough for us the past few years, though.
I expect improvement with the coaching change.

Stanford is going through a leadership change with an interim president. They will not make any decisions until new prez is on board in September.

How about this?
AAC West
SMU
UNT
Rice
UTSA
UAB
Tulane
TulsaOr, include Memphis and put Tulane in East. NT has prior conference history with Memphis that I would like to see us pick up again.

Assume we go to a 16-team conference with two 8-team divisions. If you stick to an 8-game conference schedule and always play other teams in your division, that's seven division games plus one inter-division game. It would take eight years to rotate through all teams in the other division. Alternately, you go to a nine-game conference schedule and play seven division plus two inter-division games. Then it would only take four years to rotate through the other division. I know - big league problems just like SEC, Big Ten, and Big 12. Personally, I don't like having to wait four or eight years to play the teams in the other division.

John Canzano is reporting the PAC4 have $420 Million in money to distribute this year. Normally that would have gone to all members but they left and are no longer able to claim any of it.
Any payout they need to make to comcast, or a bowl game, they can easily make.
Still seems to me the most viable path forward for the PAC4 is to just add some teams from the AAC and/or the MWC.
Wouldn't that go to the 12 teams there this year?

The best thing about all this PAC turmoil is the Smut fans have stopped visiting and gloating.
They are too busy crying. 😢No they haven't. Check out comments on PonyFans.com • View forum - Football

Then there’s this one. Take with a mountain of salt.
We can then call it the Ten Times Two conference.

Zach Ballard writing for SB Nation suggested that Mountain West would dissolve, with six stronger programs (AF, Boise, Colo State, Fresno, SDSU, and UNLV) joining the Pac 12 remnants. The problem would be getting nine votes to dissolve with six of the twelve left hanging.

I saw a tweet a while ago that the PAC-12 is looking good with a lot of schools asking to join. He listed Colorado State, San Diego State, SMU, UNLV, Tulane, South Florida, Memphis, Boise State, Fresno State, Tulsa, and Rice. Some we have heard before, but I find some hard to believe.

Frenchy's Field
Frenchy has attended UNT bowl games played in DFW area, but just a few years ago he told me he had not attended a game at Apogee. I have not seen him there. Has anybody?

There are 14 members of the American Athletic Conference. That leaves 13 to be played. If we have a 4-4 record that's 8. FAU, ECU and us add 3 which totals 11. There must be 3 more that we don't play.
South Florida, Rice, and Charlotte.
