  6. I agree with you on certain points, but not on this one. As a red shirt freshman (Whitfield) already has several interceptions and is a very promising player. I think the DBs looked worse because of the lack of a pass rush. I do agree having the DBs playing so far off when Troy was exploiting the short sideline pass was very frustrating.

  9. Thanks for the feedback guys. Yes, we plan to record it while George and Hank are doing their thing...it will be uploaded and ready by the time George and Hank are done.....that's the goal. It will be about a 20-30 minute show for right now. The Athletic Department has given us some space to record it in the press box, so this week will be our first run at it. We have the ability to live stream it, but for right now we are doing the tape delay MP3. We hope to expand it more as time goes on and a caller show is a goal, but where and exactly how that will take place is still something we are working on. We've been to too many games on the road and listened to independent post game shows and wondered why can't NT have this. No better time than now.
  10. Im pretty sure no other journalist in college football gets more coverage/discussions from the fans than Vito does on this site. His job isn't to be a fan but to cover the good with the bad and I think he does that pretty well in his nearly 10 years He's become part of the North Texas story whether he wanted to or not. I just hope he gets to stick around long enough to write about the good years.
  11. Lol... We were hoping nobody remembered when we played that..... Actually, we couldn't get the fight song down from the cloud and its all that would play!!!......man I hope it wasn't an omen.. Thanks for listening
  12. That was our mistake. It has been fixed. The direct link is now up..Should work.. That direct link to play on your phone will be good to have working in the near future....especially after games...we have a few things in the works.
  13. The file is available as an mp3. On most pcs and phones try licking on the "direct link" and it should start playing in whatever you use as the default player. You can also Right click and save it to your pc and import to your device....or you could buy a Mac......kidding. I'll look into what could make it easier. If you have the issue, I'm sure there are plenty others. For those out there that do use windows or android, how do you listen? Anyone? Thanks for listening F & D, we appreciate the feedback
  14. I think he was referring to the kettle corn, not the funnel cakes.....soggy kettle corn?
  15. posted this on the Facebook page before the half
  16. Read the Verizon post regarding tape delay
  17. Meangreensports.com just posted on facebook that the game will start at 6pm, but the broadcast on TXA 21 will be at approximately 7pm "live to tape".
  18. ok after multiple PMs, i need to clarify...yes a female.... funny guys, funny guys.....
  19. would anybody have a "friend" that could take a shot like this in a Gomeangreen.com shirt?
  20. 8 replies and I'm not sure everyone is on the same page here....*sigh....
  21. In this episode we discuss the loss to LSU and preview the home opener against TSU. Brett Vito the NT beat writer for the DRC is the special guest Direct Link
  22. Good article. I think the big issue is fan base growth. Just as Brett said, potential fans might not get past the 41-14, but most fans of the mean green will see what was done with a young team. The highlight reels showed us sacking their QB, and thats positive press. SMU was blown out by an unranked Baylor, Houston was beat by Texas state. I feel good going into week two. Scheduling a regional series is fine, but with the CUSA schedule, and the deal with SMU, we have those in the books already. Will the fans be up for a 1-AA opponent or a Ball State or a chance to play big against an LSU, Alabama, Georgia, or Texas? We play Georgia next year, and they will probably be ranked, so we will have the same discussion then. It is what it is...
  23. later in the game, we had a player down, but the announcers just mentioned it and the broadcast was showing an LSU player jogging off the field who had just made a long run or something. It then went to commercial and they never said who it was. Anyone know?
  24. I think you are right on this one. And for the above Don't try and spin this as a positive? I think there were plenty of positives when we came into the game with so many unknowns. The O-line did very well and played the whole game.....winning the sacks allowed contest. Usuallly these things get out of hand and everyone just wants it to be over. This one was different. Did you realize we were playin LSU? We gave there QB a hell of a time. When was the last time we did that with a ranked opponent? Did you see the Alabama Michagan score, 41-14, kinda familiar. When you look at the other sun belt schools scores after week one, Id say nobody looked dominant. FIU didn't put up much of a fight with Duke and Arkansas state has had 50 points hung on them at the half. We're we flawless? No, but it could have been much worse. LSU is licking their wounds worried that voters are going to see how their QB was slobber knocked and they couldn't make a statement against north Texas like Alabama did against Michigan at a neutral site.
