The Cowboys signed 2 CUSA QBs. Mike White from Western Kentucky had the 4th most passing yards in the FBS last year and the 5th most in 2016. He could make the team. Dalton Sturm from UTSA signed as a free agent. The biggest thing about him is he rushed for 545 yards last year and 1,227 yards for his career.

Marcus Davenport goes 14th in !st Round
casual fan replied to madmaxx7's topic in Mean Green Football
If 5 years ago someone had asked this question: "Which Texas university will have the only player taken from a Texas school in the first round of the 2018 draft." Who would've guessed UTSA. Go figure. The Boise player taken by the Cowboys in the first round was a walk on at Boise. It just goes to show that some really good players are overlooked by big schools. -
1. The Army game this year. I made a comment before the game that if they let UNT get the ball with a little time and the game on the line, that Fine would stick it to them. 2. The 2003 Baylor game. The Baylor fans were stunned. My son and I listened to a group of Baylor fans as they left the stadium. It was pretty funny. 3. Lance Dunbar in his last game in 2011, when he set a number of records against Middle Tennessee. He had 313 yards rushing and also set the career rush record on a cold and rainy night.

What would be your Post Season Preference?
casual fan replied to Cooley's topic in Mean Green Basketball
For this year, the CBI is perfect as it's allowing the team keep on playing though March. The experience of winning and all that entails should bode well for the future. -
SBC or not, Troy is the real deal. 11-2 this year with a win at LSU. Last year they were 10-3 with a 30-24 loss to National Champion Clemson. They should have been ranked.

Too short. 5' 10'' If he was just half an inch taller like our QB then you could make him an offer.

Ranking the top five most exciting games of the fall semester
casual fan replied to Skipper's topic in Mean Green Football
I sadly missed the UTSA game. A 98 yard drive with no timeouts and seconds left....WOW. However, I was at the Army game, and that was a heck of a game. Littrell's quick decision to run one more play after Army attempted to freeze the kicker was pretty sharp. That might have been the most important play of the game. We will never know if the field goal would have been good from the longer distance. Great win! -
OK. At 9 or more wins each year and no championships, it would keep him here until he retires.

Drought breakers? I think there's a chance for one or more seniors to get into this years NFL draft. Jeff Wilson (1215 yards in 11 games 6.5 yards per carry) might be the one to do it. Probably 2 or 3 others have outside chances. What say you?
-
Agree 100%. Troy is near the bottom of teams to be pitted against because beating them will not get much recognition since they are from the Sunbelt. They are bad news at 10-2 with a win at LSU. I would much rather play a struggling P5 team.

DRC: Five thoughts on UNT's loss to FAU
casual fan replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
5 Thoughts on the game 1. FAU is a top 25 team. 2. Line help is needed on both sides of the ball. 3. Mason Fine might get to 4000 yards on the season. (3,749 yards and counting) 4. It's too bad both FAU games were played in Florida. UNT plays better at home, and Apogee would have been packed and loud. 5. The FAU fumble at the goal line with1:09 left was totally funny. -
CBS 11 Live in Denton with Coach Littrell
casual fan replied to ScrappyD's topic in Mean Green Football
Right you both are. It never crossed my mind that it was a stat shown during the Army game. It was a really good interview that showed the rest of the world what's happening at UNT. -
CBS 11 Live in Denton with Coach Littrell

Their interview was really nice. Their math was a little fuzzy. Littrell's career record at UNT is 14 - 11 not 12 -11. -
Syracuse beat #3 Clemson 27-24

Watch out for Chris Petersen and his Washington team. -
I totally agree with you. However, there are ZERO guaranteed losses either.

Words empty as the wind are best left unsaid. How vain, without the merit, is the name. Quotes from another Homer.

Mason Fine Had 3rd Most Passing Yards In Week 2
casual fan replied to AustinFromUNT's topic in Mean Green Football
Mason Fine is also 15th in total yards with 648 (1 of only 2 sophomores in top 15) and 20th in QB rating with a score of 172.4. -
Question: Is there a CUSA team that could have a breakout season this year? I'll make a bold prediction. UTSA will have a breakout year and might even carry an undefeated record deep into the season. I would like it to be us, but I think the stars are aligning for UTSA.
-
We didn't give up that points in any game last year. If we had scored 32 points in every game last year, we would have been 8-4-1. If we had given up 54 points in every game last year, we would have been 0-12.
-
Really? I thought we lost because our defense gave up 54 points.
-
He was the main difference offensively for UTSA, but their number 55 at LB was a wrecking ball. A fluke play led to Baylor's only TD. Baylor was lucky to even be in that game as the stats showed.
-
The MTSU and UTSA wins over P5 teams helps with the status of CUSA. UTSA looked very physical and determined. The Baylor coach looked a little lost.

Which team are you most disgusted to lose to?
casual fan replied to casual fan's topic in Mean Green Football
I voted for smu. So far there are 44 votes for UTSA and 24 votes combined for the other 6 teams. Does the disdain for losing to UTSA rise to the level of a rivalry?
