  1. Let’s try and be better than this. TP had an opportunity and took it (handled his departure gracefully, must add). Abou made his own decision. We don't have that season without them. Just like we don’t beat Purdue without Reese. We can be successful with class, so let’s do it.
  2. If you’re insinuating that I, like most, were feeling great about the direction of the FB program, my answer hell yes. Those were great times. Now, as far as it gaining national attention with a NYE bowl or anything like that, no. College football has its blue bloods and powerhouses (Joel Klatt preaches this well) and it is rare if ever broken. You get exceptions like Cincy two years ago but, come on. Making a March madness run is just so much more realistic.
  3. 100% correct. The Frisco bowl or whatever it’s equivalent is not going to move any needles. Granted, we live in a state where football is KING, so no, all the resources are impossible to move but more attention is needed on BB. The guys on here responding with a HARD no are still stuck on the idea that the football team is capable of being remarkably successful (i.e the CFP). It won’t happen and you’re better off letting that go. Sorry but let’s be realistic.
  4. There’s no reason to do before the season ends except to be able to convince recruits and transfers to get here. If WVU has a good offense year, could we manage to bring Harrell back to replace SL?
  5. My wife and I are looking for a tailgate to join in on. Anybody want visitors?
  6. Not to be the pessimist BUT.. while we’re in limbo (in many ways), two start up programs in UAB and UTSA are bound for bids in the AAC. Plus Texas A&M commerce, the essential community college is making a move up to D1. Why, with all our history, are we floundering?
  7. I just wish we could go a week without being embarrassed. Forget winning. Just not embarrassed.
  8. Anyone seen any promotion of it? From what I’ve seen from other Nike schools, it’s looks awesome! See Georgia’s below.
  9. Absolutely, sure. And really, greatness can be defined many different ways, right? I just can’t get over the national attention we got in one night that we can’t get in football hardly ever (with the exception of Keegan Brewer risking his life on a kick return).
  10. I forget what donor it is (a basketball one) but they said recently that UNT has better potential for basketball greatness and put his money on that line. Honestly, that seems like the truth.
  11. As a former coach who is connected to the situation... we probably better off, just saying.
  12. I can’t believe I didn’t notice this until now.
  13. I’m sure this shouldn’t be the first time I notice this, so I’m wondering if injury or something is attributing to this, but what is up with Hamlet’s shooting form? It looks a little rough, and that’s the wrong position to have a funky shooting form to get the league.
  14. I know we shouldn’t chase bad football coaching (at Tech) but he may have real potential from his time at Utah State and Oregon. Maybe not OC but as a QC or QB’s if he’s looking to restart? https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/texas-tech-red-raiders/2020/12/14/texas-tech-fires-offensive-coordinator-david-yost-keeps-head-coach-matt-wells/
  15. We’re us, we wouldn’t have the money on a normal year.
