ACC school will never get into the college playoffs because strength of schedule. With the 3 additions it has made the ACC weaker and more expensive to travel.. Let’s face it there is going to be a P3 or a Chip Kelley model. ACC will become AAC plus after having to raid the AAC, because of exits. SMU didn’t commit the $$$ for this kind of ending.

Next year's class looks great. Unfortunately, those who excel will hit the portal. It seems if your in the G7 league and star..the P3's will be knockin on your door with that bag of cash. You'll re-boot every year. That's just the semi-pro league reality..
Another huge advantage of the TF portal. The good news we are the 70’s as far as 247, fans find ways to discredit this, but I’m sure they would be on the bitching band wagon if we rank in the 100’s like last year.

The charity has to get done $$ out of it. You are paying players for a service. How could this hold up?

Something to remember with DL is we also have last year's class who will be in their second season at UNT, including Alobwede (DL), Keith Smith (DL), Rodney Green (DL), and Marcus Moore (DL). Alobwede and Moore both saw some playing time and Smith will be a redshirt freshman. I think we had 1 DL leave through the portal, being Chris Wright who has barely played, and 1 graduate being Mazin Richards. While I'm sure an "impact" DL transfer is being sought out, I'd imagine they're being cautious about who they go after because there's not as much of a need for depth at that position as we think. A big transfer, however, should always be welcomed.
I think we're set at OL. I'd imagine QB is the focus as well as any potential big transfers who come available late.
Have to find a DL that requires a double team. Size would be nice.

Why would an NIL donation be tax deductible. It is payment for use of an individual’s name, image or likeness. It is not a donation to an educational institution. It might be deductible as a business expense. I think in that case, the IRS is going to require documentation. It should also be taxable income for the athletes.
Nil is not tax deductible, a donation to the athletic dept is.

KJ , Arkansas, Chandler, TCU or Casey Thompson…still a bunch of qb’s! May be scrambling come the 2nd round!

Even if FSU was successful, are you suggesting it's not a better conference than AAC?
I’m suggesting you’r one of the reasons. Clemson next.

Casey is now available again in the portal. Any interest in bringing him back to Texas via Denton?
Posted under qb. I would say yes, we could be a perfect fit for him. Also him being from OK may be a plus. With our rb’s and his ability to take off could be dynamic!

Casey Thompson has entered the TP. We would be a perfect fit. Interest?

We just need a guy to hand the ball off! Right?

Oh 100%. UNT is a great spot to put up numbers, but he's gonna have some fairly decent P5 schools knocking on his door like Miami, South Carolina, or maybe even Mississippi State (he's a Mississippi kid too). NIL money + a school with a national brand is hard to compete with
Maybe, Miami is in the Manning hunt and that is the issue. What happens to Chandler if the USC guy signs with Cal? KJ has been banged up every time I have seen him play. Come to a lessor Div, stay healthy and put up killer stats could be a strong selling point.

I like the optimism, but there is no way the bottom 2 dudes would even give us a chance
KJ needs to put up stats. This could be a good opportunity for that goal!

Thanks. With his numbers, I would think he would get a shot at QB.
Cam Ward I believe in HS ran the T offense, you might be right.

Size with o line and TE! Nice GMG

What a story coach Morris has to tell QB recruits. He took a kid with no offers out of HS and 4 years later he will make $1m plus in the portal and be a first round draft pick. He took a kid out of ULM and after one season he was rated top 8 in QB transfers. It is the coaching, but it is also the system. Come to UNT and get noticed! GMG

This is a perfect example of the type of players we should be signing. A PT lb with size that knows the 3 front and a HS kid at 6’3” 255l lbs that should be on the 2 deep. Congrats to all!

Not sure if there is a tracker anywhere. Mostly non public type of data so would be hard to confirm.
However, multiple sources have referenced the Light The Tower collective as having raised a little over $100k.
For comparison, it has been referenced/rumored that smu is paying players $3k/month to be on the roster. No wonder how they are 'magically' able to sign a player over some of their competitors.
Doing some quick math, 85 football players plus 15 basketball players is 100 players. At $3k per month that is $3.6m per year. If we want to be competitive we need roughly $3.6m per year NIL money. It sounds like we have $100k.
These are realities.
Thank goodness SMU is not in our conference. A lot of P5’s won’t be able to compete with SMU’s NiL.

Are we not signing a transfer QB?

Chandler, has to be upset. Cal also has an offer to the USC guy.
