  1. Byrd not getting enough respect....Dunbar, Cobbs and Thomas best I've seen though. Would've loved to have seen Abner to weigh in.
  2. The system we run isn't nearly depending on a huge haul of 3 star talent as Dan's system was e.g. I was definitely concerned about the number of recruiting battles we lost but I don't think rankings will be as big of an indicator of success with this system as they have been with previous regimes. On a somewhat related note, I recommend that you all read The Perfect Pass by SC Gwynne. It's about the birth of the Air Raid following Hal Mumme's career. Interestingly the first page of the book opens with Graham throwing the game winning pass to Crabtree in 2008. Lots left to be determined with this class but I do believe that we will be fine.
  3. Got to campus in 05 so I really missed Jamario's best yr. Lance was unreal and I didn't really appreciate him enough at the time. Brelan has got to be my all time guy. Such athletic ability and heart. He just had that knack that separates the great ones. I REEEALLY loved our secondary in 13, particularly Trice and Lee. Those guys were so fun to watch.
  4. No no no no never never never no no 90 is right on this one...I've heard rumblings of this from other fans in recent months (perhaps brought on by idaho's decision). I will be irate if we take that approach and we can kiss all sorts of funding goodbye (including my humble contributions). I believe our university's leadership has always wanted relevance (we just haven't always been competent enough to do so) so I trust that direction won't be on the table. It would mean we represent the opposite of everything I thought was great about us. Staring down giants without fear and proving we belong with that middle class chip on our shoulder is what this mission has always been about for me. Going for something like this would be forfeiture. It'd be us saying "mercy". It'd be like Tony Romo deciding to play in the Arena League next year. All the pieces are there for success, we just need the right leaders to start winning and ignite this incredibly large & uninterested alumni base into being an incredibly large & moderately interested alumni base. I believe those leaders are here and in the midst of creating that.
  5. With NY6 at play now the only way the HOD would be on a non work day (to my understanding) would be a lucky yr it falls on a weekend or bleed over Christmas work day off (like Monday was)...which is a bummer. But HOD on a workday is still better for us than Boca Raton on a day off.
  6. http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2016/08/unt-roster-update-rodney-bendy-has-left-program.html/ i was tempted to use http://lmgtfy.com/ but I'm a better person than that
  7. Smiley finally seemed to be coming around the last few games this yr too as Goree was gone. Hopefully he can keep his head on straight and have a great final year. We've got some talent coming back at WR next year.
  8. I won't be mad at Seth if this is just a stepping stone for him. I think that's the most realistic thing. That being said, I'm so glad to hear those things from someone who knows him well.
  9. Had we not had that false start I'm with you. That really hurt the momentum and our ability to strike for the win. With T Moore's solid leg and their offense being the triple option vs our quick strike offense I totally agreed with the choice to go to OT - just felt like we had the ability to score more points. The second down run play in OT was busted somehow (haven't gone back to watch it) and that really hurt bad. Felt like we were just scrambling the last two plays.
  10. Yeah I always cross my fingers a bit when we are in the limelight. Hope as we grow we build a reputation for class.
  11. Get that S outta here. Glad he still supports.
  12. Harrell will look a lot better with players that fit the system. Our OL made play calling a challenge all year. There were a few I think he'd like back today but he will do fine.
  13. Valiant effort. Congrats Army. Thank you seniors. Looking forward to 2017, especially the opportunity to avenge this one. #gmg
  14. Indeed but we gotta capitalize on our scoring opportunities with the defense playing like such crap. also we really have to have a better play to call on 4th and half a yard.
  15. Sam Rice feeling sick right now on the penalty turning into points. D has been bad but we should still be outscoring them in spite of it.
  16. Yes, misguided and unrealistic opinions. This year has been an amazing turnaround. I'm very grateful for the progress we've made. GMG
  17. I grew up in Heidenheimer but went/played at Temple. #bellcountybros
  18. Indeed - you don't hear that phrase as much these days but yep that's us. Rogers Eagles = football powerhouse (immediate seasons notwithstanding). Here's a nice link up for you: Seth's old boss Larry Fedora's brother Lee was 48-15 at Rogers in the early 2000s.
  19. Us in Temple/Belton are very proud of the Cru. Fredenburg is a great guy and they've been consistent winners. Glad they finally got the trophy.
  20. Right, I'm more worried about the date of the game negatively impacting attendance than interest from the casual NT fan. Just another instance of more bread moving to the P5's plate with the NY6...can't even get a game on a day our fans have off. Anyway, take the day off or call in sick guys!!!!
  21. I'm really surprised at the lack of worm love. I agree this bowl game is probably not the occasion to bust them out but I figured there'd be more FW vibes.
