****OFFICIAL UNT VS. UTEP IN-GAME DISCUSSION***
Jonnyeagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Agree with @MeanGreenTexan in the very least it was a little too much for me to see Bennett screaming at KD and also he might have gone after Rod even worse. Agree that if it works ok but to see it come out that early in the season was surprising to me. -
I know that many will disagree, and use the road win against Arkansas as the evidence. Please remember Arkansas was a dog turd that season and had just lost a game to lowly Colorado State. Others will say UTSA last season, but that game was at home and in monsoon weather conditions which favored UNT greatly. I really see the win Saturday night as the pinnacle thus far for Littrell in his 8-year head coaching career.

How bad was offensive lineman's Daizion Carroll? He would be a huge loss for us against SMU as a starter. Overall I though the offensive line was BETTER than I expected. I though Cole Brown/Kaci Moreka played better than Jacob Brammer and Mose and Blair are beasts. Also Moreka is a tall big dude - looks like a legit D1 tackle to my eyes.

Re: Scouting North Texas State Tonight http://www.ponyfans.com/phpBB3/styles/we_clearblue/imageset/icon_post_target.gifby SmooBoy » Sat Aug 27, 2022 10:43 pm 14-13 NTSU at half. Running backs look decent. QB is shaky. Defense is getting overyelled at constantly by Phil Bennett. We will need to bring our A game to Denton’s Safeway Bowl. He was just ok last night but it’s still early. I though MAZIN Richards outshined him in some ways.

He only had one tackle last night. Was hoping for more production.

Every day, the University of Texas System makes about $6 million off a mineral-rich swath of land it manages in the US’s largest oil field. Crude and natural gas, not fundraising or investing prowess, have positioned the school’s endowment to overtake Harvard University’s as the richest in US higher education. The University of Texas oversees 2.1 million acres—almost the size of Delaware and Rhode Island combined—in the Permian Basin. While other universities are shedding their fossil fuel holdings in the name of eco-consciousness, the Texas college system is leasing its land to drillers including ConocoPhillips, Continental Resources, Inc. and nearly 250 other operators. Land operated by the University of Texas System is on track to post its best-ever annual revenue in fiscal 2022 because of soaring oil prices and production on its property in the Permian Basin. Oil reached a high of $120 a barrel earlier this year as a result of a war-induced energy crunch. The revenue is expected to help narrow the gap between the Texas system’s $42.9 billion endowment and Harvard’s $53.2 billion as of June 2021. “The University of Texas has a cash windfall when everyone is looking at a potential cash crunch,” said William Goetzmann, a professor of finance and management studies at Yale University’s School of Management. “Adjusting your portfolio for social concerns is not costless.” read more: https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2022-harvard-university-of-texas-richest-college-oil-endowments/

Bleacher report thinks we will lose 27-10
Jonnyeagle replied to Dannymacfan's topic in Mean Green Football
Bleacher report is really stupid actually. -
Looks like he is competing for playing time at USD. "We lost some vocal leaders, but those three that have started games have led by example throughout fall camp," said Brown. "They are there when we need to bring a young guy along, or teach the way we do a drill or just how we conduct business on the field. At the same time, they work hard and do things the right way, and when the younger guys see that, they pick up their effort because of the expectations those guys have set for the unit." Some of those newer guys earned game experience throughout last season. Several others are new to the program including a trio of freshmen and a pair of transfers. Ben Gansallo is a graduate transfer who played the last three seasons at New Mexico. Kevin Greene redshirted at North Texas in 2021. Dominic Caggiano and Earl Miller Jr. are redshirt freshmen eager to make their Coyote debuts. LINK: https://goyotes.com/news/2022/8/22/football-competition-lifting-browns-dl-group.aspx

Do you really expect any major changes to this though? I do not.
