  1. I'll be there in spirit...just like Anthony Winchester
  2. And Pit Crew...when Justin arrives in Denton on Saturday you shall address him only as the Godfather and do not...I repeat do not make eye contact...you are simply not worthy.
  3. From what I remember of the Texashoops top 100 list...62 seems a bit low for us to be targeting...the guard Tre Kelly(?) was high forties, low fifties and ended up at Texas St. We should be looking in the 20s and 30s IMO.
  4. Well done except for the oddly placed and repeated cut-aways to Papa Todd while the players were talking.
  5. Again...thank the NBA and its Draft age limit for these types of upsets...and hopefully a continued move toward college basketball parody. Middle of the road recruits aren't willing to go to powerhouse schools and sit for two seasons like they used to because these schools are re-loading with lottery pick talent every year. All you have to do is take a look at the big conferences All-Conference teams and see how many underclassmen are listed compared to the number of seniors: ACC - 1 senior, 2 juniors, 2 sophomores; Big 12 - 1 senior, 1 junior, 2 sophomores, 1 freshman; Big East - 1 senior, 3 juniors, 1 sophomore; PAC 10 - 2 seniors, 1 junior, 2 sophomores. Compare that to the mid-majors: SBC - 4 seniors, 1 junior; WAC - 5 seniors; WCC - 5 juniors; MVC - 5 seniors. This trend should continue and I think its great for college basketball...you'll see fewer and fewer D-1 transfers because these guys will just go to the mid major out of high school...think of 4 seasons with Keith Wooden, Collin Dennis, George Odufuwa and Kendrick Davis...it will put more pressure on the coach at the mid major to recruit talent out of high school...but it looks like JJ is doing well with Tristan and Josh. As for these upsets...its a trickle down effect. GVSt has 6 seniors who play a major role on their team...MSU has one. Talent will win out in the long run...but team continuity will sneak up and bite a better team in the ass.
  6. Thats because they're very beatable...especially early in the year as they try to figure out who is going to pick up the scoring for Mario Boggan and JamesOn Curry...Byron Eaton will try, fail and then eat a bucket of chicken...Obi Muonelo will jump over the basket and accidently score 10 points....Terrell Harris is solid for another 10. And the only real post pressence, Kenny Cooper, is suspended. This has the potential to be a great way for UNT to start off the season...build lots of healthy momentum before heading down to UT.
  7. I don't live in the area anymore...but has the situation with Dom Green deteriorated to the point of demonstrations? I have a very hard time believing that...and before I see someone post something like "liberals will protest anything" let me preface by saying I'm quite liberal, been in my share of protests and we aren't simply a herd of sheep who will take any chance to show off our sign and chant making skills...it takes a significant issue, and to this point and from what I've heard...this doesn't seem to be an issue. Ohhh...and Kansas is legit...should make for an entertaining Big 12 championship game with OU and if they lose it shouldn't taint what has been a great season for the Manginobears.
  8. I heart Cooley so much for these lists. Lots of good Eastern European names on here...a couple playing in Texas (like at Weatherford JC with Rod Flemings...WHY THE HELL HAVE WE NEVER LANDED A JUCO FROM WEATHERFORD!!!!!)...whoa...unexpected rant, sorry...just saying that with their offensive prowes and less than apt defensive abilities, Eastern European players would fit very well in JJ's scheme.
  9. I love that new season feelin! I think some of your best basketball teams will be up in the Pacific Northwest this season...Gonzaga, Washington, Wazzou St. and Stanford should all be really good...and I'm gonna say atleast two make the final four...the Zags and Oregon...but then again I've never won a dime in any bar bracketts I've ever entered b/c I like underdogs too much. Go Mean Green
  10. Thats a very nice sink...making some bathroom renovations? Good taste.
  11. He said he didn't know much in the way of specifics...just referenced what the appearance of racism can do to recruiting and he brought Jub on for a few more details...it wasn't too groundbreaking, just common sense really...if you missed Jub go off on this topic my bet is they'll replay it tonight on the top 10 but he was very passionate...great to have a guy like George Dunham in your corner
  12. Is it because those are predominantly black schools? Whoops...wrong thread
  13. Craig is at least consistant in his distancing from the program...no one really knows why, but for Jub not to call him on it I think it has to be something significant. And in my opinion, he will be more than welcome back on the bandwagon once Papa Todd puts our program where we all expect it to be
  14. What's "stuckling?" And would five all campus titles classify me as an all-star? I thought more legend...just short of God, though I do have some omnipotent qualities...demi-God. As for my basketball background...I just love everything about the game, especially college...I went to UNT from 2001-2006.
  15. Some old backwoodsy sounding guy called up and called Papa Todd a racist with absolutly nothing to back it up past the fact that SLC has a lot of white kids and Jub went off...and I agree Rob...there will be some quality drops that come out of that.
  16. WOW...JUB is angry at this douche who just called Dodge a racist
  17. Who's 2006-2007 season stats are these? 80 games played, 38 starts, 26.5 minutes, 9.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.6 apg. That would be the new 12th man on your bench, one Juwan Howard. And this time you're only tied to him for a season...and not counting on him for anything more than 15 - 20 minutes of competent back up to MVDirk. Show me a better frontcourt than Mbah a Moute, Love, Stanbeck, Mata, and Aboya. (Quincy, Keith and Harold in a draw?). Collison, Shipp and Roll make a solid guard rotation...they just don't thrill me, yet nobody really does this year...Duke will be monster next year...Memphis is over-rated...UNC, Kansas, Louisville you can all kind of lump together as contenders...how about Oregon pulling off the double national championship this year?
  18. And I just got my Althon college basketball preview magazine...the Mavs got my basketball happy pants going last night and I wanna talk basketball today. So...potential topics: 1. Under "hoop superlatives" Bo McCalebb gets some recognition as the 9th best "slasher" in the country and is later given some love as an honorable mention All-American. Kinda disappointed in the lack of a Courtney Lee mention. Also, something to help UNT fans rest a little bit easier, Nebraska big man Alexs Maric is listed as the 4th best "post man" in the country, right behind D.J. White of Indiana and in front of Brook Lopez of Stanford. 2. UCLA National Champion? And am I the only person who was very under-impressed by Memphis? Appearantly b/c Althon has them in the Final Four. 3. Oklahoma State page: picture of Byron Eaton in all of his over-rated, fatty goodness and a postseason prediction in the NIT. 4. Texas page: picture of Big 12 player of the year D.J. Augustin and a Sweet Sixteen prediction. 5. New Mexico St. half-page: no picture, but 1st team all WAC selection love for Justin Hawkins. Althon thinks the Ags will make the NIT as well. 6. Recruiting tid-bits: four Sun Belt freshmen are listed in the Top 300 incoming freshmen: WKU's- Steffphon Pettigrew and D.J. Magely; USA's- Jamar Moore; FAU's- Jamal Owens. SMU has two players list in the 300 as well - Ryan Harp a 6'4" guard from Abilene and Alex Malone a 6'8" forward from Mansfield. 7. Best line in the magazine: "All your buddies are turning pro, so you do too. Taurean Green, meet Anderson Hunt." Classic lets talk basketball...I'm bored out of my mind today
  19. And their defensive coordinator stuck with the same cover one the whole quater.
  20. Also, it may have been mentioned...but Im I the only one who noticed Green got benched in favor of Latif Nurudeen... Kinda got darker at that position
  21. You see what you've started Justin?
  22. Craddock isnt exactly a back up...Dasher got a chance to play when Craddock was hurt early in the year and has earned his time b/c of his versatility. Most felt Craddock was the second best QB in the Belt behind Hughabook when the season started. Five turnovers killed us and forced the defense out on the field WAY too much...quick scoring drives and three and outs didn't help much either. I agree with CFN...I thought the D played well and actually adjusted throughout the game...Green and Agbottah bit on one double move early and MTSU tried it again later and Kartay should've had a pick.
