  1. since this is all speculation and assuming dodge is retained and then revamps the staff, it would not hurt my feelings if he was our next oc. http://sfajacks.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/m..._shannon00.html will be tuning in to see how they perform against montana.
  2. from finsnation.com, link is at the bottom of the article. The Leprechaun Cobbs started off as a sort of punchline to the fact that we had shitty running backs to fall on after Ronnie and Ricky went down to injuries a couple of seasons ago. Samkon Gado, as it turned out, was rather shitty. Cobbs? He was rather awesome. Patrick Cobbs is the perfect scrappy, lunch pail blue collar player guys like Sparano and Parcells love. He's hard working, brings it every single play and has tremendous versatility. He'll play the H-back, he'll catch passes out of the backfield, he'll break open screens with his quickness, he'll punch you in the dick for no apparent reason. He can also fight twenty men armed with swords and flails while downing a pint of Guinness with one hand and pleasuring a harem of Asian hookers with the other. Ain't that right, Pat?
  3. Why aren't Sam Owusu-Hemeng and Korey Washington on the roster any more?
  4. Went to the UT vs. UCF game back in September. In very few words that stadium was terrible. It was all bleachers; the seats, the stairs, the scaffolding. C.H. Collins is ten times nicer. In the Florida heat we were baking. Not to mention the fact that there was not ONE water fountain. They ran out of water (bottles) before half time. Their were people passed out everywhere. The EMT room was booked solid. They were putting people into team buses that had the a/c on to cool people off. I don't remeber what quarter it was but a shower came and rained for about 15 minutes. One of the only saving graces of the day. During the rain it began to lightning; all I could think was that I will make history by being one of 45,000 people who were electricuted to death at a football game. Also, it was so damn loud in there that I believe I will be deaf as I age. They had the speakers so close to the fans that the reverberations were shaking the stand. Two things I did like was their student population was outstanding. Everyone was in black and gold and jumping up and down the entire game. Could be because the place is a trampoline? Also, the stands were right on top of the field. If UNT builds anything remotely close to UCF's stadium I will be highly dissapointed. But, I still be at every damn game.
  5. how do you not get anyone from your own state?
  6. I was just curious what he is going to do? I thought his size and speed were intriguing. I knew he was interested in UNT and a few other schools but can't find anything on him except for something I can't read on scout about how he is sticking close to home. Only problem is I don't see him on NM, NMST or UTEP signing list. I don't really expect an answer just wondering.
  7. http://jcfootball.scout.com/a.z?s=87&p...c=4&yr=2008 never quite know how much faith to put into scout but they rated Adryan Adams a four star! intersting side note: the College of San Mateo where Mr. Evyn Roman is from has 3 or 4 nice sized O-linemen.
  8. If people hold back their donations for those reason then they are part of the problem and not the solution. That type of logic only adds to the stigma of a down on their luck program.
  9. Vizza led the nation in picks (20) the next closest person was Paul Smith of Tulsa who threw 19 but also had 42 touchdown passes to Vizza's 17. Vizza had 116 less pass attempts than Smith. Also his completion percentage of 58.2% is ranked 73rd according to espn.com. Another intersting stat is that his sack total of 27 is 27th in the nation with the likes of Paul Smith, Andre' Woodson, and Rudy Capenter sacked more than him. Andre Woodson had 36 touchdowns to 10 interceptions and Rudy Carpenter had 23 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. I'm not making these comparisons to talk down on Mr. Vizza because I think he has a great future ahead of him at UNT. I just hope he grows from this season and never throws more picks than touchdowns ever again. Another thought ... Like the coaching staff, this year was a major learning experience for all involved. I think play calling offensively and defensively was suspect all year long, in crucial, momentum swinging moments. Our teams record was not the result of any one man, coach or player, but was a team effort. I hope what we witnessed this year will be very different next year because I want to believe that these players and coaches will try their damndest to not make the same mistakes next year. I also believe that the future holds great things and talking about last year is done because I'm looking forward to next year. I'm looking forward to our team being better, our record being better, our conference being better (whether it be the Sunbelt or any other), and our recruits being highly touted highly sought after players. Although our team and record was nothing short of sad this year great things are coming, and I could not be more proud to be a Mean Green fan than now. How does one figure out how to get up if they have never been down? It is going to make it feel that much better.
  10. I saw Cedric Benson play twice when he was in high school, and he was definitely a man amongst boys, but a year later I watched a kid from Austin who played for Reagan High School who was the the closest thing to Barry Sanders i had ever seen. His name I believe was Caron Arterberry. In playoff game against the Bastrop Bears he was the sole reason they beat Bastrop. It seemed like ever time he touched the ball he ran for no less than twenty yards. I remember that game going down to the wire and Arteberry having the most impressive performance I have seen to this day (with exception to Sam McGuffie but that was just on youtube).
  11. i would like to see all of the texas teams (non big 12) to come here on a regular basis, UTEP, Rice, TCU, SMU, Houston, maybe even Texas ST. I think in state rivalries are great.
  12. I agree with FFR. It's easy to burn coverage when the quarterback is only facing a 4 man rush...that being said I was a little disappointed that a 4 man rush was getting that deep in the back field on some of the plays.
  13. What about that women's coach from mansfield timberview? she was a coach in the wnba.
  14. he might be a nice kid but he couldn't catch his butt with both hands.
