Yeah, let's devalue the product even more. Awesome idea

Yeah you’re right because those 20,000 empty seats at Apogee are getting a lot of value and those 5,000 empty seats at the Super Pit are to.   Giving kids under 18 free tickets doesn’t devalue anything

I haven’t posted in along time but I’m going to put this right here.  My family is also a long time K-State season ticket holder and Manhattan is my hometown.  Anyone who knows me knows my story... we adopted North Texas when Apogee opened and love North Texas.

I’ll tell you right now this is true and wouldn’t be surprised if things materialize quickly

Seth Littrell's agent has been in Manhattan twice recently in the last few weeks, including within the last 7 days.

November 1st I said...I know from whence I speak...now I’m looking forward to who The Mean Green hire and will support him 100% as well

  3. As I previously mentioned.. Happy to see this getting close...for K-State we are getting a heck of a coach... for North Texas I have no doubt sucess will continue and I look forward to witnessing both.

247Sports Take: Tim Fitzgerald of 247Sports' GoPowercat.com is reporting in a VIP board post that legendary coach Bill Snyder is likely to step down from his post at Kansas State by week's end. Kansas State's power brass is targeting North Texas' Seth Littrell as its first option to replace Snyder, who's 215-117 in two separate stints at KSU.

You have all probably heard of the business strategy to price where you want to be.  IF, a product is priced below the market value of a similar product, that product will seem to be inferior.  If price equally, it will seem to be on par, and if priced higher, value will be perceived as greater.  Sometimes, raising the price of something will generate a greater interest in that product...  I am sure that WB and team have produced market studies in like markets that justify this increase.  I don't see WB doing anything on a gut feeling of "let's try this" or my equivalent of "hold my beer".  I think this present group consisting of administration and AD have earned the respect of knowing what they are doing.  Let the professional do what they do, and we will/should do what fans do....

The Atlanta Falcons model on concession pricing shows otherwise.

    http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/22212592/atlanta-falcons-drop-prices-make-more-money-mercedes-benz-stadium-concessions

Yes, at this point it does relate to ticket and/or required donations.   No way should current season ticket holders be asked to pay more for their same seats.  Tickets prices as a whole in areas of our stadium that aren’t typical (if ever) occupied should have a lower price point.

We need butts in the stands regardless of price paid.  These said butts will spend money on concessions and maybe even apparel.  More importantly our players and potential recruits want to see fans.

  6. The FGCU coach, who made a base salary of about $235,000 this season and has a buyout of only about $150,000 on a contract with two years remaining.

As to what we have to offer...who knows...but I believe he should be the #1 guy we contact.

I took my daughter to her orientation at Ole Miss earlier in the summer.  Many of the things that are listed in that blog are things they have implemented at Ole Miss.  There is tracking of student attendance.  There are points that you earn for attending various athletic events, football certainly, but even more for non football.  Prizes are listed that can be earned.

I like the fact we now take the freshman to the football field as part of orientation, but that should not be the end of the story.  We should engage the Greeks heavily.  Give them incentives to get their people in the gates.  Same thing to other groups, dorms, associations.  Even if it feels a little over the top for a while, make athletics a part of everyone's student experience.  There are a lot of students who would not otherwise go to an event.  Make it worth their while.

Build relationships with faculty.  Put athletic related items around campus.  We have a receptive President for the first time in a long time regarding athletics.

There is so much that can be done, but it will take effort.  Effort that had long passed the prior AD by.

Amen....this needs to be sent to whomever is chosen as our AD.

I like the idea.  Not sure what is allowed for such things.  I have touted giving tkts away for 5 years.  Mentioned it to the past staff on several occasions....not on a msg board....maybe my bad for that???  Suggested middle school/High School, even pee wee league teams get a tkt for every player.  Fill the wings....

Agree with setting up at local high schools.

I like most people don't want to be force feed something but a table sat up offering a free ticket to anyone who provides basic information (name, email address, up to them if they fill in address and/or phone number).

  9. Was there any???

What a perfect opportunity to (A) Hand out FREE (yes free) vouchers redeemable for one ticket to game for every single person (including kids, which I think is most important) who walked through that gate or (B) at the very least have a table for those interested to provide some basic information and personally hand them a voucher for a FREE ticket to come back.

New Athletic Director - seize every opportunity to market your program.  A few (yes, I mean hundreds if not more) free vouchers to get people into our stadium won't hurt our program or bottom line at this point in the process.

  10. So...who actually got the invites?  Club seat holder, season ticket holder, fairly decent Mean Green Club rank and I have to find out about this on here.   It's not an issue of if I would attend or not but more of an issue of communication (yes they have my correct email on file).

Great idea and glad they are providing this open forum.

  11. CHAD WEIBERG - mentioned him before and I'll mention him again.  Read this bio.  Oh...and I know him.

    http://www.texastech.com/genrel/050515aac.html

Weiberg revamped K-State's fundraising efforts during his tenure, directing a philosophy that focused on personal interaction and communication to Ahearn Fund donors on all levels. K-State has benefited from a grass-roots fundraising campaign that is the department's largest source of revenue.
