Mccasland doesn’t seem to be that interested in working the high school scene. Obviously he has brought in a lot of JUCO recruits as a former JUCO HC himself, but even with the high school offers he has made they have primarily come after watching those players on the AAU scene. Which doesn’t matter as long as he is bringing in quality players imo.

For what its worth, an hour before this was posted he was speaking at the TABC clinic to hundreds of HS coaches in a packed ballroom in San Antonio.

    Great speaker btw.

In years past we have had some of our football players run on the track team.  For instance, Johnny Quinn used the track team to increase his running technique and speed.  I know a couple of our   incoming recruits, Gaddie and Morris, are both sprinters and was curious if Littrell encouraged his players to also run track.  Jason Bean was a great high school sprinter, but being a QB, running track may not be the best thing for him to do, but other positions that may be different.  Just curious and also curious if other D1 programs have players that run track in the spring.  Anybody know?

    Some impressive times this year:

    Gaddie: 200 meters (21.40), high jump (6'2"), long jump (21'9").  Also runs the 4 x 100, 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relays.

    Morris: 100 meters (10.93), 200 meters (22.23), 400 meters (50.27).  Also runs the 4 x 100 relay.

    D. Simpton: 200 meters (23.28), long jump (19'4.75").  Also runs the 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 relay.

    K. Jackson: 100 meters (11.55)

Cant imagine any of those being very competitive at the C-USA level, except maybe the 21.4 in the 200m. But thats just me guessing after working a HS district meet last week.

I think the proof is in the fact that the athletic department is going to the time and expense of having multiple uniforms each season. Why would they go to the added expense if the department didn't believe there was a return on that investment?

I coach HS football. I’m around the “typical” 17 year old college football recruit everyday. I promise you, kids care about uniforms, graphics, swag, gear, etc....

I thought FAU was a top 25 in '17. They certainly deserve their spot . How can someone not agree after they thoroughly trounced us twice? Both were no contest almost as much as was SMU. Now Troy was another matter--they had a QB with a hot hand that day, but look at their record. Only Coastal Carolina was beaten worse than us in the SunBelt. I can still see us getting possession after half at two points down and Fine taking the sack and coughing up the ball--game over!! it's no fault of his getting sacked but you don't cough up the ball when we had the chance to make it a game. Low point of season considering opponnet ( except for SMU which is always a beating). La Tech exposed just how poorly we match up every year against SMU by their performance in the Frisco Bowl. I FINALLY have learned and given up my tickets to the first game. We stand a better chance of beating Arkansas than SMU. It's taken 50 years of frustration to finally prove to me that SMU will always outclass and out perform us in every way. We hand Sutton 4 of the 10 TDs he gets for '17 season, and the next week TCU shows how to make him a non factor. Except for the game where SMU wanted an excuse to fire June Jones and laid down, we have not even been close to being a factor in that game for decades. See you later , and hope you enjoy the beat down on Sept. 1. When will we finally pull the plug on this series? The embarrassement has gone on long enough.

  5. Football:

    1) "The Stand" game against Rice in 2013.

    2) Lance Dunbar in the rain against MTSU in 2011 for the record in my last game as a student. Ran to apogee in the rain to watch it and it was the coolest atmosphere for a game with no one there.

    3) "The Drive" against UTSA this year.

    Basketball:

    1) Watching (from C-USA.net) the little bro get his first career start in his last college game at Marshall last year.

    2) The CBI Championship. The whole run and the way The Pit showed out as we kept advancing.

    3) Rushing the court as a student after beating Tech in 2009? 2010?

Honorable Mention: Attending NCAA 1st Round Game in OKC in 2010.
