  1. Is there any website where I can watch UNT football games from 2010. I found one during the 2010 season that allowed me to watch earlier games in the season, but I've lost the url.
  2. While its always about money (money talks) this conference is going to get better because programs are tired of getting their asses handed to them by opponents they believe are in the same class. This upgrade by UNT of its coaching staff is going to motivate the ULM boosters/alumni to step up; maybe next year or the one after. Makes you kinda wonder if hiring Dodge for cheap was a plan. If he wins; you're a genius; if he loses, it was a worthwhile experiment, but now we gotta go get some real talent. Losing to programs like Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky should piss you right off. We'll see, but this hiring of this coaching staff is how you get better. Kids are fired up; they say we're gonna be good. Doesn't really matter if they are; they think they are.
  3. I find it hard to believe that a Mac would keep Nelson! Pure and simple a nostalgia and loyalty play! The D-line for all its talent, was truly an under-performing unit. Does Nelson think he's the only D-line coach in the college and pro ranks that is right to not let D-line guys put their hands up on a pass play? That was a 70s pass rush philosophy!
  4. Sobering! Gotta win the first one! That would be huge!
  5. Sorry, neither one is the best football movie and certainly not the best sports movie. Football-North Dallas Forty. Sports-Vision Quest. I'd say Hoosiers runs a close second on Best Sports Movie.
  6. I would also mention that a lot of teams want to where meaningful colors like the pros wearing pink for the Susan Komen foundation.
  7. Welcome! Football will be better this coming season just because of the upgrade in coaching and some pretty good returning talent.
  8. Gotta have great feet and a serious understanding of leverage and positioning to play LT, like Gill. Gotta play the best DEs week in and week out. But when you do have that kind of LT, they'll switch the best DE to the other side. Used to be the Gs had to have the best feet for pulling and that is still somewhat true, but the T position has changed over the years such that they have to have a quick and balanced kick slide.
  9. Actually I think it was Fortenberry that won that lineman award. Feeley was very solid and played left and right guard playing some or all of 7 games last year. In my opinion, they'll move Tomlinson to LT and have to find someone with good feet to play RT. I hope one of the guys mentioned can step into that position and do a good job, but I'm skeptical of the designated tackles. So its, Tomlinson @ LT, Feeley @ LG or RT, Johnson @ C or RG, Fortenberry @ C or RG or RT & Y'Barro @ C or LG. That seems quite reasonable to me...make it so!
  10. I think it looks GREAT! Can't wait to watch a ball game in it.
  11. I base it on his stories. They're almost like he talks to some coaches and players and writes what they say. I have seen so many mistakes in his columns about little things like naming players in games that are not playing in that game. Also, he doesn't watch anyone but the QB & RB, maybe a little WR; no defense. Very weak reporting if you ask me!
  12. The problem with Vito is that he really doesn't watch the games and I wouldn't fall into the trap of thinking he's got a handle on the nuances of football if I were you. This team can be a bowl bound team if they can fix the Defense. The Offense is fairly intact. If you look at film of the last 5 games you'll see that Dunbar broke more long runs behind the so called back-up center and left guard than any other direction. I give Drake props for even being in there most of the year because that was one hurtin player. He only played about 60% of the season. Gill was the only starting O-lineman that will be missed, but most of the other O positions will be improved upon. Now D is another story, but the anchor players are pretty good and the HC is a D "genius" we hear. We need two good D-Linemen, one good LB and another good corner. If Thompson can step in at QB, I like our chances to make a bowl game.
  13. I saw an article the other day about the 2006 Fab 55 and how those players have fared at the next level. The majority that went to UT were a bust as far as being starters was concerned. They were mostly special teams, played a few games or left school/transferred. A couple were stars and one a superstar that fell down the stairs. I think recruiting kids at sophomore level is limiting, but UT starts then and they get top 5 recruiting classes consistently. Maybe they should be able to make that pay-off more. Their problem now is they don't have the stud hoss QB like they've had for the last 5/6 years.
  14. Lefty has an eye for under-recruited talent and he's a very good O-Line coach. Great combination! He'll be some top BCS school's O-Line coach in the next 3-5 years. Pitt ain't bad!
  15. Now, if he can get Nelson to teach his line to put their hands up!
  16. Tomlinson LT - Johnson LG - Y'Baro C - Fortenberry RG - Feeley RT or some variation of these guys. Maybe they recruit a very good O-Lineman from a JC, but that rarely works out. Maybe Franklin and Bean step up, but hard to say if that'll happen. I don't see either Leppo or Adedipe starting unless they improve a good bit.
  17. Here they are: http://www.gomeangreen.com/forums/index.php?app=gallery&module=images&section=viewimage&img=284
  18. I like the eagle crap idea. The boys might get a kick out of them too. It would probably put us on Sports Center too.
  19. You think he wants to go back to HS? An OC job anywhere would be a good start to rebuilding his rep.
  20. Still the best unit on the team: Tomlinson LT - Johnson LG - Y'Baro C - Fortenberry RG - Feeley RT or any combo of these. I wasn't a Big fan of Coach Bryan, but the O-line was pretty awesome for the last 5 games. Tomlinson & Johnson should be the senior leaders and Fortenberry and Feeley will be Juniors with a lot of games under their prodigious belts. JCs could bolster this group, but I don't see a lot of backup material on the team except maybe Franklin and Adedipe (sp?). The new O-line Coach should make all of theses starters that much better with his pro background. Lefty was the recruiter, so it's hard to tell what kind of talent we'll get in this year.
