  1. Good idea King...it may have to wait till the next home game though to get signed.
  2. Sorry Greek...forgot about that. So would that include baskets or what not?
  3. I think we can all rally behind Nathan and show the true appreciation we have for all that he has endured and faces with his injury. His willingness to fight as hard as he could to prove the experience factor alone was not the reason as to why the reigns were handed over to him shows the true dedication he has to the Mean Green. With that said...if anyone knows how we can pool together something and have it delivered to him (either hospital or home)...I would like to be one to contribute. So the guy plays football and I am not sure that flowers are the appropriate gift but I would like to see him get something on behalf of this board just to let him know that we appreciate all that he has given. Ideas...suggestions.... anything pertinent to what I just said is going above and beyond.
  4. Harry....we coulda gone without that little sidenote. LOL. We did hold Rice to 106 yds rushing....we can prep for this!
  5. sooo...just for the record. Only one man left the Alamo when giving the chance to (Travis's famous speech)....the rest were like us and in for the long haul. I just hope outcome of the scenario is what separates the two situations.
  6. and to be honest...even my father after last night's game called me and asked if I could possibly bring him to a game sometime. He is a Michigan State grad (BA and MA) and goes to at least 4 games a year of the Spartans. For him to say that about desiring to go to a Mean Green game is almost tear-jerking.
  7. You are a fool if you believe that latter part of this sentence.
  8. I heard that their first string QB was knocked out of the game in the first half yesterday with the backup in indefinitely.
  9. I too have been in the same position all day. Came home stone cold sober last night so there is no excuse for the worst hangover-like feeling I have had in some time (and I go out every weekend). The upside is that I took my feelings out by hitting up a shotgun range with friends earlier...blasting every ounce of disappointment out the end of a 12-gauge. With that said...I too share optimism in giving the ball over to Derek. He knows the score and knows that he is all we have. I feel with his past performance under pressure record that he won't disappoint. If we lose the next 2-3 games I can't do this anymore either. We all give so much into believing in the team, the coaches and the program that it is mentally unhealthy to throw all you have into the Mean Green only to be led to be disappointed...time and time again. FAN23...I don't think that Brett's article insists that Riley will start...but more like he will be taking snaps and getting prepped to be a backup (as will Teagarden).
  10. King...thanks again for taking us into your tailgate today. The guys and I really appreciate it! This game has so many parallels with last year's Ohio game it isn't even funny. The only plus I can see out of this situation (and I hate to say it) is that you can expect Derek to come out swinging with everything he has to show that he has the skills to be our starting QB. If we can get him to play smart...calm, cool and collected...then I expect great things from him. Army = Must Win....or the season is done with maybe 3 wins. WKU even put some points up on UK today...as they are getting better as well. With FAU giving MSU a good run...MTSU almost beating Minny...and Troy almost taking OSU to the woodshed again I am nervous that those three teams are almost certain Ls at this point. We have to get this together or we all lose (not just Todd).
  11. ran into Jeremy Phillips at Rudy's in Denton on the way home...he too confirmed that it was a dislocated hip and that he and some others were heading over to the hospital to see him. My best wishes go out to him. If I can reassure you that we should feel strong and confident in that a very capable QB will be taking the helm until Nathan returns. Though it was a loss...great game tonight. GMG
  12. Not a fan of any of the college games being held in NFL stadiums....truly takes away from the college experience of a game. You could hear a mouse fart in that stadium today.
  13. If we can all agree that Dunbar needs a little room to get his speed up and then becomes a terror to catch with the ball in his hands.....why have we not tried him at KR? I don't pretend to know the in's and out's of FB as to who would do well....I just thought this was a question worth asking. Enlighten me?
  14. Here Here!! +1...this crowd will be energized...believe that.
  15. Rice has a thread about this on their board. They are convinced we are delusional
  16. 4 to 2 in favor of a Rice win with Brett being one of 2 in our corner. Of course noone on that staff is going to know the status of UNT's football program anywhere near the way Brett does. Lets make a point of calling out these naysayers once Rice gets fried. DMN picks Other heavily favored games of interest... Noone picked Troy FSU gets no love against OU (whereas I see upset in the midst)
  17. Since Fox-DFW doesn't feel the need to involve even a prediction of our game on their site. FS Houston
  18. I would also like to note some names in the Sunbelt that are up and coming in the RB spot. - WKU's Bobby Rainey put 155 yds against Nebraska last week with a TD as well. Take the 36 Passing Yds he also gained and you have a player over there. Expect big things from him this year and easily could contend with Dunbar for leading rusher in the Sunbelt if these numbers stay constant. - FAU has seemingly only Alfred Morris as anyone worthy of mention on the squad...and a big mention at that. He put 114 All Purpose yds up on UAB last week with a TD. I expect that Dunbar should easily outperform Alfred this year...though that shouldn't take away from the fact that Morris has skills. - Dallas native Phillip Tanner at MTSU put up 75 yds in 8 carries against Minny last week. I would imagine he will be seeing quite a few carries this year (at least early on)with the absence of Dasher. - Troy seems to have a large variety of RBs but hasn't found a true standout as of yet. - Ark State is in dire need of a truly skilled RB as its selection seems to lack talent this year. - ULaLa is in the same boat (if not worse) than both Troy and Ark State. - ULM and FIU are also lacking the RB department
  19. I am amazed that Cobbs only weighed in at 205...he looked stockier than that. Essentially he is the same size as Dunbar. Patrick in 2003 All Purpose Yards = 1,771 yds Lance in 2009 with 4 games non-starting status = 1,678 yds. If Lance stays healthy this year....he will beat that record previously set by Patrick...you can take that to the bank. To answer your question..yes..he shouldn't have a problem getting picked up in the NFL. My only worry is that he gets jerked around like Cobbs did until he finally found a home in Miami.
  20. this is something I would expect to see on the UTSA board..no offense Bob but this ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
  21. I am not gonna lie...I wish we had a hybrid of the two but this made me laugh. Nathan Dunbar
  22. Not sure if there is any room for landscaping since they are building it over Robertson Stadium....no room for anything but parking really.
  23. it does kind of look like a nuclear power plant is situated behind the stadium...hmmm.
  24. gotta admit I like the new stadium for sure... the rundown... 40,000-seats (expandable to 50k) $120 million price tag 22 Luxury Boxes Club Level U of H
