    So, is he going to play on the football team there or is she talking about the opportunity to major in basket weaving?

    We paid Arkansas State $500,000 to buy out Grant. If Wren had released Benford a year earlier we could have acquired Grant without any additional cost.

    TWU vs Minnesota State Tonight.

    The 2024 NCAA Division II women's basketball national championship game is set. Today, Friday, March 29 (2) Texas Woman's will take on (5) Minnesota State in St. Joseph, Missouri at the St. Joseph Civic Arena at 8 p.m. ET for a chance at the 2024 national title.

    My hypothetical assumed that all home games would be in Denton and UAB as a decent G5 team.  Also I count only 6 road games as the Kansas game is at worse a “neutral site” game hundreds of miles from Kansas in DFW.  And the Idaho State game would be swapped with maybe a team like New Mexico, UTEP, Tulsa, Tulane or La Tech, as Idaho State plays FCS now.

    Count again. There were 7 away games, 3 at Fouts, and Kansas in Irving.

    That was 7 away games and Kansas was at Texas Stadium. 

    UAB was 1AA in 1995 and had been Division 3 until 1992. That homecoming loss was one of the most disappointing losses in my almost 50 years as a fan. Dan McCarney proved that it can get worse.

    No thank you. 

    One good thing about that season was all games were telecast with Gil Brandt as one of the announcers. 

    The come from behind victory over Oregon State is certainly a top highlight of my memories as a fan.

    UTRGV Athletics Accepts Invitation to Join Southland Conference in 2024-25 - Southland Conference

    “There are many benefits that this move will bring to our student-athletes, fans, and alumni. The Southland Conference is positioned in a tight footprint between Texas and Louisiana. This will allow our student-athletes to spend less time traveling cross-country and more time at home training, recovering, and preparing for competition and will significantly reduce missed class time. With significantly reduced travel, there will be cost savings that allow our department to reinvest in the student-athlete experience in ways we haven’t been able to before.”
