  1. A walk on can be very beneficial in practice. Especially if he has height.
  2. Art Briles was the Texas Tech running back coach from 2000-2003 prior to being hired as the Head Coach at Houston in 2003. He was never an Asst. Head Coach. He and Jinks have very similar backgrounds. He is certainly a Coach that should be considered. Also, Briles had no College coaching experience before going to Tech.
  3. An acquaintance told me today that he attended the game last night. His first UNT game. A family member had been wanting to go to a game for some time and talked him and another into going last night. He has degrees from two P5 schools (one SEC and one PAC 12). His comments included the following "the QB was talented", "the stadium was really nice", "I had a good time", and "when my schedule works out I will be back".
  4. He performed better than Smith in the spring, did he not?
  5. That picture makes it look like last years SMU game was SRO.
  6. Delivered today. Section 122 row 17
  7. Glad to hear he has the job. My seats were by his family's seats at games. Real nice folks. I know his wife would very much like to return home to Colorado. Hopefully they will be able to do so in the future.
  8. He has family issues he needs to attend to and you think this is good? Or are you saying it is good that he got his degree?
  9. My tickets were delivered to my house by a member of the Athletic Department along with a complimentary box of Omaha Steaks while the Green Brigade played the fight song in my front yard, or perhaps I picked them up at the ticket office on Friday. However I got mine, I do know tickets were in the process of being mailed on Friday.
  10. I have my season tickets in hand. I am glad they included my parking pass for the CUSA Championship Game, it is one less detail I will have to take care of before the December 5 game at Apogee..
  11. FFR is the expert on Mean Green Softball. Unless he says it happened it didn't happen. Still waiting for him to fill us in on this subject.
  12. To me the NBA is like professional wrestling. It is predictable, boring, and big on "showmanship".
  13. I edited the numbers. I originally copied from the wrong column. The valuation was based upon "program revenue and expenses...cash flow adjustments...risk assessments...and growth projections." Louisville was no 1 by far.
  14. The WSJ recently listed the top 115 basketball programs by value. They listed 6 CUSA teams. 92 UAB 18.87 million 101 Rice 15.81 103 Marshall 14.52 108 WKU 12.86 112 UNT 11.96 115 UTEP 11.57 Other TX teams by # 30 UT 54 Baylor 60 TAMU 73 SMU 77 TX Tech 86 TCU 95 UH 111 TX State I have been having trouble with the link.
  15. The top four seeds went to the first four out of the NCAA tourney. Those four as announced were Temple, Richmond, Colorado State and Old Dominion.
  16. Those who say LSU will get in before ODU must not know that ODU beat LSU on a neutral court by 9 earlier in the season. I will admit that LSU beat WVU and Arkansas and I know it was earlier in the season but I think that win should account for something. ODU had only one non conference loss and that was to Illinois State who beat Wichita State in the MVC semis.
  17. Why the infatuation with Aston? She was/is no Hayden Fry and her team never beat Tennessee.
  18. As much as I would like to see Jeremy as freshman of the year I predict it will be Lee from UAB. I think the contenders are Lee and Norton from UAB, Dorn from Charlotte, and Jeremy. Lee has really kicked his game up a notch at the end of the season.
  19. I get it now. If the softball team had split the games with Oklahoma State it would have been a rivalry, but since we won both it is not a rivalry.
  20. Would the Texians have won if they were defending the Alamodome instead of the Alamo? Could Santa Ana's troops have been convinced to lay down their arms for a Bucket of Chicken? These are questions left for historians. However the issue of a rivalry must be settled by fans.
  21. I drove from Austin (leaving at 10;45) to Denton (arriving at 4;30) yesterday and other than slower traffic starting at Alvarado I experienced no problems. I live in south Denton and the ice on my driveway, and on my street, is melting. I have no idea about other areas in Denton but I am going to the game. Accuweather says it is 28 with an expected high of 34 and Weather Underground says it is 32 with an expected high of 35.
  22. A Snake Trophy would also pay homage to the old Snake Pit.
