  1. Who was the "Moss" recruit from Denton Ryan a few years ago that had grade issues and never enrolled at NT? And didn't he have a brother named Jarvis?
  2. Everyone should read GreyEagleOne's post, over and over. It sums up the feelings of many older alumni who have bled green for many years, including myself, a follower since 1964. Please read what he has to say. "This season is my 59th following North Texas football and I've attended around 300 games but this year is my last unless there is a coaching change. I'm serious as a heart attack about this. Call me disloyal if you like but I just can't stand to see the alma mater that I love sink to laughing-stock status among my friends and fellow alumni. It is not a second-rate university and I won't tolerate second-rate football teams anymore."
  3. That's because they come cheap! Perfect for NT.
  4. Footballscoop- Friday August 27, 2006 "What do you hear at North Texas?"
  5. I, too, remember the folks at "Killer Frogs" making that statement. How about their other description of RV, "nothing more than a snake oil salesman".
  6. Watching the UTEP - Tulsa game and the announcers mentioned that word on the street is Tulsa head coach Steve Kragthorpe is on the list of coaching candidates for the HC job at North Carolina. Said Kragthorpe denied hearing anything about it. Also stated that Tulsa tries to do what it takes to retain their top coaches. Or in so many words that's what was said.
  7. UTSA From the CUSA board.
  8. This should have taken place already. Our OL play is atrocious. And we know about the 5 play playbook offensive coordinator.
  9. I'll make it simple: Darrell Dickey pi$$ed away four decent years of NT football.
  10. Are you serious? Where do you come up with this stuff?
  11. The North Carolina coach turned in his resignation, effective at the end of the season.
  12. Couldn't be more than 5,000 in attendance. The Big East mus be real proud. Did I hear the commentator correctly? He was talking about the four story, $80 million dollar Athletic Center attached to the Cincy stadium.
  13. As pointed out on the "Dark Board", and I have to agree, RV had better do a full, legitimate search for a head football coach. No more of this "I'll offer my buddy at LSU(JJ), or the OC at Southern Miss. who I worked with before", the head coaching position at NT. A legitimate coaching search or DeepGreen won't be very happy with RV.
  14. I hope your fingers just went into a "palsy" state after typing that!
  15. Don't count on it. Enjoy 2-10 at the end of the season.
  16. Enough to make even "true fans" throw in the towel.
  17. Someone once said, you always play your very best players, even it they are true freshman.
  18. With a far below average line blocking for him. Make that trying to block for him.
  19. Why worry when you have Bobby Ray on your side and your buddy Mattress Mac as the money man. Time for a contract extension.
  20. Emmitt01, PM me with your address. I have two I can send you.
  21. #51 Baylor I always thought Baylor was ranked higher than this.
  22. Knowing the financial benefits that a high profile, successful athletics department can bring a university, this makes perfect sense.
  23. Absolutely!! For me, I'd like to add a stipulation that the stadium construction needs to on "this date", and be completed no later than a specified date/year. Some of us would like to see this stadium before we start pushing daisies! And no 20,000 capacity stadium! This could be our only shot, so let's be bold and forwarding thinking. 35,000 to 40,000 minimum!
  24. Serious question. What would a "reasonable" amount be to pledge for the average Joe Mean Green Fan? And over how many years to pay it off? I'm sure there will many different donation amounts that will eventually presented. Would a $5,000 or $10,000 donation pledge over a 5-7-10 year payoff be reasonable? By average, I mean the 30+ year old working graduate.
