  1. Zeke, we all know the answer to this question. Which reminds me, I need to set aside $20 to buy a t-shirt supporting whoever wins the UT-Ohio State game so I can claim to be a lifetime fan.
  2. We get a game against SMU, easily the best attended game of this upcoming season potentially, and the forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms?! I'm beginning to think there is a curse over us...who do I have to sacrifice around here to get a football season where mother nature isn't a factor?
  3. Marshall has his job back. And the game, apparently, has improved (I give him my leftovers )
  4. I will be out in the Fouts parking lot Friday night camped out and waiting. Got the generator, got the TV, got the playstation and the grill ready. Feel free to join the pre-victory party-night before party.
  5. Up 7-0 and showing far more life than the frogs right now. Probably about to be 14-0 this drive.
  6. For Belt schools to pull in 26,000+ and over 18,000 versus 1AA schools is a marked improvement.
  7. It should be noted that every person, from RV down to Diet Coke boy, and all in-between recognize the opportunity and importance of this game. Nobody in our athletic offices is planning on having time off until after December...which would be post N.O. Bowl and a good season.
  8. It's a toss up for me between her and the Auburn girl, but Sun Belt love gives her my vote.
  9. Yes, but this is not the standard by which Dickey will judge his QB's. Technically Danny Meager didn't throw a single interception or get sacked even once in the UT game so he's in the lead right now.
  10. And the "point" is off base. These teams may get yards against good teams but they wouldn't sniff the line of scrimmage against elite teams. Comparing performances against Nebraska, Penn State, and Tech to Texas is like saying somebody scored on the Colts so we should score on the Bears or Panthers.
  11. Please tell me, aside from Ohio State, who we would have lost to this badly....anyone? No, not Texas Tech, not aTm, not Baylor, not anyone in the Big XII. None of them will touch UT this year. None of them. And to say that UT is not the same team without Vince Young, you are exactly right. They're still a team filled with NFL caliber talent led by a quarterback who was better than anyone we have THE DAY HE WALKED ONTO CAMPUS. We weren't facing some cast off yesterday, we were facing blue chip talent backed up by blue chip talent. All I'm saying is my wishes when we walked out of memorial stadium two years ago were: 1)Show improvement the next time we're here. 2)Show some sort of creativity and adaptation in the game plan 3)A team that played with fire from the 1st through 4th quarters I saw that. Apparently most everone else in the world simply saw 56-7.
  12. I wanted to comment on this as well. UT's team speed accounted for a lot of our woes yesterday. And I'm not sure what play you call when the defense is parked in your backfield...perhaps someone more enlightened than I can explain it.
  13. I'll take your handle to reflect not only your level of confidence in what you say but also your competency to analyze college football.
  14. I know it would be easier to come on here after a looooong drive home and slam DD because we lost by a large margin. It would be easy to slam the play calling and say that Dickey wasn't creative enough. I'd be lying if I did either though. We threw the ball in this game and not just when it was a desperation heave. We took shots downfield and were oh so close to connecting on them. I saw a defense that blitzed (how someone didn't see that I'm not sure), ran hard to the ball and didn't back down. Yes, there were missed tackles. Yes, they wore down late. Tackling is correctable and NOBODY that we face for the rest of the year will have UT's size across the line or their pedigree at the skill positions. And if you think we didn't look waaay better this year than last time you're insane. I'd like to be the first, hopefully not the last, to say "good job" to coach Dickey. He may do something to draw my ire later in the season but he called a game plan that wasn't the same "roll over and collect the check" strategy I've seen before. Let's face it folks, Texas' speed and physicality will make a lot of teams look bad when they blitz or blow up plays. In my mind, bottom line is that our boys have nothing to hang their heads over and, if we play like we did today, SMU has got a fight on their hands!
  15. According to Andy Hogue (what a tool): Yep, the talons usually are found somewhere under the wings.
  16. Mike Ditka. He's so tough that when he just looks at one Weebles wobble AND they fall down...out of fear.
  17. When did we all become moms and dads? And 300 or 400...talk about pulling out the "woe is me" routine early.
  18. I heard that at the wake for the squirrel they would be providing kool-aid and matching tennis shoes.
  19. This to me is a circular argument. I've always believed, and preached to anyone who would listen from the time I was a student 'til today, that if you want a better product on the field you've got to put a better product in the stands. If our boys look up in the stands and see that few of us have made the trip (the short trip) to Austin it sends a message. It says "we don't believe you can win." If we don't believe they can win then why should they? On the flip side, if they look up there and see thousands of Mean Green faithful it says to them "we are behind you 100% and we believe."
  20. Hey, beef stuffed burritos are pretty good!
  21. So the "stud" kicker we signed isn't starting? And I can help Dickey figure out J-Quinn's role in the UT game...none. Play him against SMU at 100%
