  1. From watching Beyond the Green, I noticed that OL Thomas Preston was on the sideline at the UTEP game in warmups. I’m assuming he is injured, but haven’t heard a thing about it.
  2. Great win! Nice adjustments at halftime for the offense! Torrey went beast mode! D was solid all afternoon!
  3. That is a great interview! Great job to Dave! And some love from David Smoak, too!
  4. Weather Channel futurecast radar shows the rain clearing right about kickoff time!
  5. We got there early (5:15pm) and had hardly any wait and parked in the orange lot using the pre-paid option ($12) compared to $15 cash. My scan code worked on my phone. My brother arrived about 5:45pm and it took him about 45 minutes to park in the orange lot because he was stuck in a slow moving line. Hopefully, the Athletic Department will be all over this to speed up the entrance into that lot!
  6. Living in Longview, I love seeing this article! He’s poised for a big year this year! Thanks for posting!
  7. Man, that was fun! And great to have my 9 year old son with me in the Super Pit to enjoy it! Go Mean Green!
  8. I like our chances at home with 2 games to go. Definitely settled down in the second half, but the 3s were huge in this one. The announcers said it at the end...they expect a much higher shooting percentage for the Mean Green at home. The team learns from this one and finish at home with 2 in a row! Go Mean Green!
  9. I’m glad for him to land on his feet as an OC again. Always liked him and his passion for our program and relentless drive during some tough times.
  10. I recall overall recruiting dropped way off and we had some busts in recruits as well. It was a shame to see the bottom fall out like it did.
  11. UTRGV is D1, competing in the WAC, so this wasn’t a loss to a D2 team. It looks like a bad loss, and it certainly isn’t good, but it was against a fellow D1 opponent, despite the lack of name familiarity to us.
  12. From my view in the Wingzone there were at least a dozen missed holding calls made against our d-line, linebackers and on our receivers. I’ve never seen anything like that at any level of football.
  13. I liked how the stadium announcer was saying, “THE University of North Texas” yesterday!
  14. They didn’t clap, but from talking to a few folks afterward, the general consensus was we were all surprised and disappointed that these young men we assume are soldiers or young veterans would act so disrespectful and classless. It was summed up nicely by one of the eight year-old boys with us that said, “those boys were being bad”.
  15. And when a group of young punk Army fans in the Wingzone started taunting Guyton as he lay motionless on the field, myself and another guy both stood up, stared them down and called them out for their classlessness and use of foul language around our kids. I stared lasers through them and told them to go over to the Army section. They tried to bow up, but thought better as the whole Wingzone full of parents and kids stared at them. Probably didn’t hurt that I’m 6’ 5” and 270 lbs.! A few minutes later, those punks left the Wingzone! Tough to do that in front of my family, but I just couldn’t stand by and let them hurl insults at a seriously injured player. I think I made my family proud! Praying that Guyton and the other injured players have speedy recoveries!
  16. Go Mean Green!!! Another thriller that my family of five and two friends (children of Aggies) got to witness in person and we all loved it!!!
  17. Not the prettiest win ever, but they got it done! Go Mean Green! And the D held when they had to! And Fine showed the strong leader that he is!
  18. And concerning that one place above us is North Carolina, where Mike Ekeler is now the DC after having been with us last year.
  19. In reading media reports, I’m concerned that several quotes from players and Littrell are referencing the fact they had no energy or excitement coming into the game, but had a good week of practice. Littrell emphasizes a good week of practice leads to a good game. That didn’t happen tonight. And Ejiya said they couldn’t figure out a way to stop the FAU offense. This game felt a lot like a combo of the SMU game this year, the Portland State disaster, last year’s UTEP game and the 2008 Rice drilling. I’m really hoping this is an isolated situation, but these are the kinds of losses that are simply unacceptable. If energy and excitement was lacking...why? Do changes need to be made with travel-related issues, hotel, food, etc.? How can you not be excited for this kind of match-up with the conference division in your control? Disappointing...time for this program to look itself in the mirror and decide to be great or go home!
  20. Shavod was good...no doubt! But I sure am hoping for Booger-like!!!
  21. If English is as advertised and at full speed, he could have an impact like we haven’t seen since Booger Kennedy. This defense needs that in a bad way right now!
  22. What a shame that such a good team, FAU, has a fan base that is smaller than a mid-size high school. We sure can’t say the crowd effect had anything to do with this pitiful performance by UNT. Going to just have to finish the game...try to get something positive going (just like in the SMU game) and move on to Old Dominion. FAU is far superior tonight in every aspect of the game! Real gut check for the Mean Green tonight. As head coaches should do, Littrell gets to take the responsibility for this one. That’s what you get to do when you are paid a million a year.
  23. Welp, a little humble pie in case we thought we were tops of CUSA. Looks like the SMU game all over again.
