I respectfully disagree. My alma mater's football program recent record is enough of a reminder of where things stand and i do not need remindefs of this. Quoting a kid from southlake adds zero value when the direction of the story could be taken many different ways... none of which includes things like this.

I have officially had it with vito's version of covering north texas athletics. These comments when each and every recruit decides to go elsewhere are completely unnecessary. If vito wants to take every chance to kick us in the nuts by publishing negative commentary by people.... go cover somebody else. This starkel story could have been summed up by saying he chose aTm, so it is time for the coaching staff to look elsewhere... maybe even focusing on alternative qb recruits for littrell and company to turn their attention towards.

His experience since high school is basically either running scout team again the bama d... or just holding a clipboard, sending in signals, and getting a bare minimum in reps... I'm with ya. I would still submit that this is a reason to get somewhat excited. time will tell of course.

so.... for sure, alec morris isn't going to provide a qb positional upgrade in your mind for one year? just curious if you wanted to expand on this. I know the board would love more unt90 piss in our collective Cheerios. I understand the "I'll see it before I believe it" thing. I also understand that bringing in a backup qb transfer from the biggest program going now isn't going to fix all our ills the way that it appears to have dramatically helped schools like la tech(of course I understand that there were other factors involved in helping their successes the past 2 seasons). I was curious if this was just more Cheerio peepee or if you truly don't expect anything from alec morris for one season? I know that a qb's success hinges on much more than just his play alone.

any thoughts as to bringing in a high school head coach from a power house program? Denton Ryan or Guyer? If we are going to try and start to keep talent here, should Littrell have atleast one guy from those ranks? Or do we do all FBS experienced coaches/recruiters?

You can't tell much from this... He doesn't come across as an ars head or anything. He seems like a decent enough dude. Gracious and eager... But of course, none of this means s.... until we see something happen. I would expect us to be able to steal a couple recruits committed to other schools, and yes, most recruits need to have offers from other fbs schools for me to start getting excited. None of this takes shape until the spring game, but I will be front and center checking for staff updates and recruiting updates because I'm a sucker...go mean green

Littrell kind of came across as kind of just a good ole boy. I do worry that he didn't come across as oozing that charisma that a great coach seems to have...that was his first interview as a head coach...that I heard anyways. He has time to get a bit more polished on that front. The most important thing to me is that he is able to connect with young men and their parents in livingrooms and convince talent to come to Denton. I feel pretty good about his track record with offensive x's and o's producing numbers.... if he can pull the talent. The other part of it is making sure that he has a good enough defensive staff to do the same on the other side of the ball. Offensive numbers are very marketable and fun to watch, HOWEVER, I still believe in great defense as being essential to w's. The ONE good season that McCarney had was due to a great defense. Can you imagine if that defense had a better than mediocre offense to go with it? I would have been excited no matter what this guy said really. We just needed a change and our new beginning to start. As long as nitardy isn't running the ticket office anymore, I'm feeling like we are coming back as season ticket holders after a 2 year break... even if we can't make some games due to my kids' saturday sporting schedules... I forgot to mention that special teams in that season were very much above average as well. blocked kicks and returns for touchdowns... man brelan was good and I still wonder why he didn't get a real shot in the nfl. he is small, but it wasn't like he was slow. fast and strong is a good combo

So, how long will it take to get a qb to commit and pull stuff off like that kid... damn. Talk about extending a play and making something happen.

This is very logical....and I HOPE HOPE HOPE your theory is correct. Not that it matters, this is what I thought too. We shall see in the coming days... In the mean time, the ACC Championship game has NEVER EVER been more interesting to me. EVER IN THE HISTORY OF EVER!!!.
