  1. I think Eagle83's question is whether the permanent seats are chairbacks, and the answer to that is no, except for the club level. But I'm sure you're right, they will still offer the clamp-on chairbacks as an add-on to the season ticket price. Whether they raise the price for those, I don't know. I also hope they wouldn't try to prevent people from bringing their own, because I'm thinking of buying some myself.
  2. Band members are students, they will pay the fee just like all other students.
  3. During my time at NT (1979-83), and for at least a few years after, the band was on the 50 yard line. I'm guessing it always had been before 1979. What I don't know is when the band was moved, and why. To me, the band belongs in one of two places: either on the 50, with students surrounding them, or in the end zone, so they play to virtually the entire stadium.
  4. 7:03pm I'm getting it on Mean Green Premium - and I'm not a subscriber
  5. Is that what those are? If so, then there's an unbelievable number of wheelchair "seats", along every walkway. I guess they want to stay one step ahead of the Feds. There need to be stairways or ramps for the bands to get from the stands on to the field, and I hadn't identified anything else in the drawings or photos that might indicate that. Another thing that I thought was the case, but wasn't sure until looking at this diagram. There is a slight elevation difference between the west side and the end zone - but not as much as the east side elevation.
  6. It looks like there are stairways from sections 101 & 125 leading to the ramps, which would be needed for the band to get from the stands onto the field. I was expecting that the Green Brigade would be in section 125 (kind of lousy, but understandable), and sections 101-102 (and possibly 201-202) would be for visitor seating, with 101 being for the visitor band if they brought one. So maybe the Green Brigade will be in 101-102? It would be odd for them to be separated from the students, and to be on the same side as the alumni. I really think that section 112 would be the ideal place for the Green Brigade - then they'd be playing to virtually the entire stadium. But I guess that's not the plan.
  7. I wish I could. Unfortunately Huntsville is just too far from Sugar Land (SW Houston) to go on a weekday night.
  8. You mean like this? Stadium from Top of Hill 10/02/2010 Of course, it's much closer to completion now!
  9. U of Houston would be the most obvious rival for us, DFW vs Houston, state schools, similar enrollments, etc - except that we haven't been in the same conference as them since the 50's (I think), and have played them only a few times. I'm really looking forward to that first game next year, not just because it's the opening of the new stadium.
  10. Yes, Ben Knox really looks awkward out on the court.
  11. just got home from the game - here's my thoughts. Take everything with a grain of salt, I am by no means knowledgable about BB. - Nice arena, kind of like a mini Alamodome. Seats 8100, but empty. KTSU said attendance was 1023, and thought that was good for a first home game. Huh? - You'd think that TSU would have a band (and a good one at that), but no. - No surprise it wasn't on channelsurfing - no sign of any cameras. - Who was doing the MG radio broadcast? I couldn't see anyone in green at the scorer's table. - Ugly game. Even though I think we only were behind the one time at the half, it never felt to me like we were winning. But maybe this is the mark of a great team - winning ugly when necessary. - They didn't seem to be able to get inside well; the height differential seemed to be an issue. - You know it's a strange game when Josh doesn't make a field goal until 1 minute left in the game, and hardly gets fouled so he doesn't have many free throws; and George isn't anywhere near a double-double. - Hogans was tremendous! It's always great to see them play, even better when they win. Given how weak the conference seems to be this year (except for WKU), I think we're going to have a tremendous season. I hope they continue to improve through the season (as always seems to happen), so we can make it deeper in the tournament! GMG!
  12. You like potato and I like potahto You like tomato and I like tomahto Potato, potahto, tomato, tomahto Let's call the whole thing off
  13. Home run? I'd call it a Grand Slam - McCarney, Canales, and Hayden Fry's sons! Funny that we should use a baseball analogy for football
  14. I read it as "Damned Front Page" too!
  15. Plumm, why settle for shuttle trains? How about a monorail?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF_yLodI1CQ Anyone remember "Monorail" Max Goldblatt?
  16. My guess was somewhere around 24,000. I was surprised that the announced attendance was that much less.
  17. Did you happen to catch ESPN's highlights of that game? UT has a Tristan Thompson too: http://www.texassports.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/thompson_tristan00.html weird, very weird...
  18. Found this thread using a google search: Diet Coke Boy Injury Prone? Eagle-96 gets a +1 for that - interesting that you can give +1s on old posts!
  19. What, we're replacing Ed "Straight Arrow" Gennero with Wally Rig? The analogy doesn't hold - Paul Blake was recruited by Wally, he wasn't Ed's son...
  20. But there's nobody in the stands - was this at the end of a game???
  21. Yeah, I thought it was a picture of DD at first - and thought that was Diet Coke boy behind him!
