  1. Our DL and LB situation scares me to be honest. We don't have many new faces and this group struggled last year. I'm hopeful Shipley and JJ Jean Louis pan out. However, they are wild cards at this point. We better pray to the football gods that Rod Brown stays healthy. Right now we don't have another experienced guy to play Nose. DE- Jake Shipley or Vic Alobwede DT- Rod Brown (no clue who backs him up now) DE- Fatafehi Vailea or Kortlin Rausaw LB- JJ Jean Louis or Jaylon Smith LB- Jordan Brown LB- Ethan Wesloski
  2. There are a lot of oil and gas jobs in the area but no clue to be honest.
  3. GJ Kinne doesn't have character or credibility. Character: Investigated by the UIL for his recruitment to Gilmer. Recruited a sexual predator to be his QB. Wasn't transparent with his starting QB about the above situation. Credibility: He won at Incarnate Word with the players Morris recruited. He then went to Texas State and followed a similar model. GJ brought over a few Morris players from Incarnate Word. I give him credit for getting the most out of the Texas State roster last year. However, he's not the most ethical guy. His dad was not the most well liked guy in the HS ranks either. We will see how this plays out.
  4. This guy played QB when 5 Star Terry Bussey went down. He's a freak of an athlete as well. I'm interested to see if he blows up or not. One thing to note, R-FR Kollin Lewis' Dad coaches at Timpson. I hope he sings the coaches praises during the recruiting process.
  5. He ended up at Coastal Carolina. Looks like he played in one game with 3 carries for 34 yards. I'm glad he bounced back on his feet.
  6. Mr. Smallwood got a FCS offer from Lamar and decided to go the JUCO route. Regarding the move to DT, I think it was the latter.
  7. We will have around 15 on scholarship next year. We lost 8 OL to graduation and the transfer portal. The following OL are going to be seniors. Paula V Gabe Blair Jett Duncan Larry Moore So the long winded answer is yes.
  8. Nice, he should be in the DL rotation. I know he didn't have a ton of production, but he played in 31 games at a high level program. Exciting to see them address a position of need.
  9. I'm worried about the defense. Unless one of these HS kids makes an immediate jump to start, it's going to be a lot of the same on that side of the ball in the front 6. The DBs from last year's class and the few additions from the transfer portal should compete for playing time. I hope they spend a lot of time this fall working on tackling drills and learning to play faster in the defense. DE- Vic Alobwede NT- Rod Brown DE- Fatafehi Vailea LB- Jordan Brown LB- JJ Jean Louis LB- Ethan Wesloski CB- Ridge Texada CB- Loronzo Thompson (I expect one of the returning RS FR or Xavion Brice to be in the fold) FS- Bryce Linder (I imagine 3 transfers Spruells, Allen, or Hill will compete for playing time) BS- Phil Hill or Jayven Anderson Star- Evan Jackson (Spruells, Allen, and Hill compete for PT as well)
  10. Polarizing- I remember some of the old faithful fans were offended by his tweets earlier in the year. I don't even remember what it was over, but I saw one miserable fan from North Carolina complaining to Jarred Moseley via Twitter. What a beta move.
  11. Stone Earle walking onto the DATCU turf this spring with the Eric Morris offense. Stone Earle realizing he has the last ranked defense in the country returning without new additions to the front 7. It's not looking good at the moment. Our defense is going to be young with a bad DL and bad LBs. I really hope we see improvement with a second year in the system.
  12. Per 247, these are the current players in the portal without new schools. I'm not sure if any come back. A few never played and were more than likely told to enter the portal. Trey Cleveland (no reported offers) Christian Lee (rumored to be hanging it up) Sifa Leota (multiple FCS and a few CUSA schools have offered) Dillon Williams (no reported offers) Joshua Smith (no reported offers) Dorian Morris (no reported offers) Isaiah Johnson (offer from ACU)
  13. He didn't have a ton of production at West Virginia, but he was a very solid WR at Navarro JC. I think he steps in and plays right away.
  14. https://247sports.com/Player/makyi-lee-46058458/junior-college-268682/ 6'6 327 pound OL that transferred to Mizzou from Coffeyville Junior College. He had 20 plus offers coming our of Coffeyville. It looks like he didn't play at Mizzou. However, I would think a back up at Mizzou would be in contention for playing time at a G5. It will be interesting to see how the OL looks next year with all these P5 transfers.
  15. They don’t usually do the puzzle pieces for PWO. But I am happy he's committed to us!
  16. He is receiving interest from schools, but hasn't landed anywhere yet.
