  1. Sorry, been out of the country all week. A small town in East Texas called Jefferson. It's been on and off the list the past few years.
  2. Joseph's Riverport BBQ, but he has mentored the Bodacious guys in Longview.
  3. Marcus wasn't with the team during spring ball.
  4. There's not any good BBQ in Denton proper. I will die on that hill. Before anyone gets defensive, I own an offset smoker and am friends with a UNT Alum that has a Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ spot in East Texas.
  5. I hope you're not basing this on playing well in practice against our defense. Stone could be the guy this fall, but Chandler is the more talented QB. I think after fall camp Chandler will be the QB. Let's pray that he can stay healthy.
  6. Awesome, I guess that's why they wouldn't tell me my seat location after I renewed.
  7. The defense was ranked 130 in total defense last year. We can all agree the secondary is moving in the right direction. However, the front 6 is worrisome. We added a DE from Oregon, a LB from Iowa State, and a few HS prospects. Other than that, the front 6 looks the same as last year. We need to hope a few guys from the portal are added this spring. Otherwise we will be 5-7 or 6-6 this year.
  8. Lol, thanks for confirming that none of your engineering friends from 20 plus years ago don't go to games. I hate to break it to you, but my buddies from the finance program don't go to games now either, and I left UNT 13 years ago. They didn't target the business students when I was in school or when I graduated. This is exactly my point, the marketing department/student outreach sucks. They need to do a better job of targeting kids currently in Denton. It seems there are a lot of people in the athletic department that do just the bare minimum and collect a paycheck. I agree, winning does wonders for a program. It's a damn shame DATCU/APOGEE opened in 2011 and we still haven't sold the stadium out.
  9. Looks like we have a scrimmage today. I'm interested to hear how the defense looks.
  10. Yep, we need to target the Business/Engineering students. The weird art kids are not going to attend a football or basketball game.
  11. His HC Tony Johnson had a son who was long snapper or OL for us. I have friends who coached with Tony and he speaks highly of UNT. Ultimately it's up to the kid to decide, but not a bad thing to have a good relationship with his HC.
  12. Sucks that we had injuries and are already out of the tournament. I am proud of how this team tackled adversity. We had some nice wins this season. On to next year!
  13. Well if that's the case, his advisors gave him bad advice. He played well here last year. However, this will be his 5th school since 2019. We shouldn't be shocked he left. As soon as adversity hits, he leaves. Southern Miss- Blinn- ULM- UNT- Cal
  14. Tough shit, who cares. I hope he enjoys the NIL money.
  15. It was so bad that I couldn't remember lol.
  16. I yelled that at a Tulsa fan during the 08 or 09 game. This old lady told me, actually we had a hurricane hit last year. Drunk me was caught off guard. So was the Mendoza defense as we lost by 30 plus points.
  17. Mike Canales per Footballscoop.com in 2010. “Our motto is going to be that we are going to lock the gate and go to work. If it is at 2:40 or 2:50 or whatever time we are going to practice, that gate is going to be locked. There is a time to play and a time to work, and we are going to work. I am going to demand a lot and expect a lot.”
  18. McCloud had grade issues according to people from JMU. This is part of why he ended up at the academic powerhouse Texas State.
  19. As the great Ice Cube said, "If you're scared go to church."
  20. Hearing Coach O give his elevator pitch for coming to UNT and his reaction to when kids hit the portal was great. His quote: "A bunch of kids hit the portal and we didn't flinch."
