  1. It is pretty concerning to me that the other top programs in the AAC: Memphis, FAU, UAB have demonstrated an ability to retain their elite players. Meanwhile we have lost our leading scorer to the portal two years in a row.
  2. This is the GoMeanGreen forum. Go Mean Green! If they aren’t Mean Green any more, screw ‘em.
  3. Pretty incredible that UAB is keeping him. Guy could go anywhere and get paid $$$. The good teams in the AAC are keeping their best players. Except us last year. Maybe this year will be different for us?
  4. One thing Ross can do is recruit. He essentially recruited our entire team last year. Rubin and Scott to stay and Edwards, CJ, Allen, Buggs and Walker to come. We might have a ton of roster turnover, but Ross knows how to stock the shelves.
  5. Sad that the season has to end with such a bad taste in everyone’s mouth. Hope it doesn’t impact transfer portal too much. Also, Edwards’ size was really exposed in this game. SEC and Big 12 teams looking to poach him might want to consider how effective he will be against longer defenders.
  6. Seton Hall is just better than us. They really got screwed by the NCAA.
  7. Can someone move this post to the Kansas State message board? We still have a game to play tomorrow.
  8. Don’t know how clutch K-State fans would say Tylor is. I know he had some moments, but do they feel like they got their moneys worth?
  9. 1. Abou must have had a bad attitude or been disruptive in some way to get kicked off the team with his size, athleticism and skill set. Keeping him around might have tilted the chemistry in a way that could have lost us the NIT last year or tanked this season for us. You have to throw out the bad apples. So losing him may have been a blessing. 2. Tylor Perry was good. Jason Edwards provided everything that Tylor did. Sub Tylor for Edwards and our record is basically the same this season.
  10. Then why was he allowed to come to the postseason celebrations?
  11. So no chance for any postseason tournament? Aren’t there a bunch of small, weird ones? Is there anything stopping us from signing a sponsor, inviting a few schools and starting our own?
  12. We need to play. Ross needs more big game head coaching experience.
  13. I wondered if there was some kind of event at the Super Pit for donors/season ticket holders. I also noticed that my tickets for the FAU game did not appear on my phone on Wednesday like they usually do. So maybe these tickets are for what was supposed to have been FAU?
  14. This is going to be the weirdest offseason we have ever seen with Pay-for-Play (not just NIL) now legal and unlimited transfers. I would not be surprised if we had 100% complete roster turnover this offseason. The good news is that Ross has always been a good recruiter and talent evaluator. And he has been a winner at every job. His JUCO roster-building experience could really come in handy. Hopefully everyone reading this is donating to the Mean Green Collective because it is about to be roster Armageddon across the entire college basketball landscape and we need to give our coach plenty of ammunition.
  15. FAU and USF deserve to make the NCAA tournament. If we can win a couple conference tournament games, I hope we accept a postseason tournament bid, don’t care which one.
  16. What is at stake with this game? Is our conference tournament seeding already set?
  17. Dude, 9% growth in ANYTHING in one year is substantial. Congratulations to all. Let’s keep it going…
  18. Finishing here is a good requirement. We can’t compete with a lot of schools on NIL, but some things are worth more than money and being eligible for our HOF is leverage for us to keep kids.
  19. ALL programs are going to lose key coaches and staff. Even Texas. It’s Morris’ job to replace him. No reason to believe he won’t. As for Bradford, he was a long shot with Gilbert and is still a long shot without him. Good thing RB is the easiest position on the field to find good players.
  20. Maybe Perry can be in the Kansas State HOF?
  21. I would say that this team missed Rubin and CJ Noland more. And I doubt Tylor would have been amazing last season if Rubin and Kai Huntsberry had been injured during the majority of conference (which is the equivalent of what happened to us this season). This has been an exciting Year 1 for Hodge. Some things didn’t break our way, but we can still finish strong and make some noise in the conference tournament and the best championship tournament that we can qualify for.
  22. And can someone please explain to me why Rubin would get another year of eligibility? He is a Year 4 senior and his first season was 2020-21. The COVID year was 2019-20. Why are athletes who weren’t playing that COVID year still getting extra years of eligibility? And Rubin has played 14 games this season. Is he trying to get a medical redshirt? Hasn’t he played in too many games?
  23. The way college basketball is now, I wouldn’t count on any of these guys coming back. Edwards is certainly going to be offered Tylor Perry money from the SEC/Big 10/Big 12. Maybe we can still keep him. I don’t know. It used to be fun to look at a team like this and imagine next season when they are all healthy, but we could very easily be looking at an 8-man rotation next season that contains ZERO of our current guys. That doesn’t mean that we won’t be even better next season. But with NIL and the transfer portal, you can’t count on the current guys still being here. But we can trust in Ross Hodge to put together a competitive roster. Whoever might be on it…
  24. Would have been better for us if FAU had won. FAU will def finish in Top 4 of conference and will get those tournament byes. We have a chance to pass UAB to get in the Top 4.
