  1. It wasn't like this. We got some attention but the Sun Belt hurt, being non competitive in non conference hurt, facilities hurt. But the biggest difference in my opinion is the access available for UNT now. More TV , more coverage of "mid majors" I laughed the other day when I complained to my wife that the game on Fox College Sports wasn't in HD. Wow how far we've come.
  2. The advantage UNT has always had in this region is shear NUMBERS. It has always been there, under the surface. This is the "sleeping giant" we often hear about. We just haven't been able to take advantage of it. We're starting to scratch the surface. The last few weeks I've noticed it as well. Anytime I'm wearing UNT gear out the FIRST thing anyone mentions to me: "hey their football team is playing some ball!" First thing out of their mouth.
  3. I DREAM of the day we're filling that place up consistently. We're on the way. What a brilliant design on that stadium for the acoustics. SMU better bring their ear plugs for the home opener next season.
  4. The last few weeks of the season are going to be FUN.
  5. Tulane fans will tell you FAU's D is awesome. UNT fans will tell you FAU is lucky. ;-)
  6. Have we had anything this catchy since "The Miracle in the Desert?"
  7. Ok......I stand corrected on my previous commentary regarding The Hardline. Good coverage.
  8. The superstitions are funny. I'm sure many on here have them. I wore my Friday green polo yesterday. The problem was I needed to be a little more dressed up for a meeting we had with some people that flew in from out of town.... F it. I was the guy at the table in the Mean Green Polo
  9. If FAU can pull it together and beat Tulane (I believe FAU is favored).... I don't think there's anyway Tulane can run the table from there. @ UTSA and @ Rice after that..... I don't see them sweeping that. Just please FAU beat them on Saturday....it gets really interesting then.
  10. The visual of their poor QB on the final play.....lying flat on his back..... Just wow. I still can't believe what I saw.
  11. should be below 10mph around kickoff....
  12. I've found mobile Gomeangreen.com to be quite useful in these situations.....
  13. I slept ok... Today at work however.....I will be pretty worthless.
  14. One point made on their board. None of their 6 wins come against a team with a winning record or ranked higher than 104.
  15. Don't disagree. If you can't beat 'em join 'em. It's obvious what it takes to get local coverage on the Ticket.
  16. SMU doesn't have the clout or credibility to keep us down anymore. They're a nobody. That's a thing of the past. They CAN pay radio stations to cover them and then expect them to behave. (Which Mike Reiner and others do) Has more to do with SMU buying coverage than UNT. If the Hardline is going to cover a local team and they have to choose between SMU and UNT they're gonna choose their master.
  17. The morning show talked about the win vs USM. But I listened yesterday afternoon. The Hardline never talks about the Mean Green. I thought for SURE they would mention the game. Instead they talked about SMU having to come back against Temple. (Who I belive was beaten by Idaho?) But SMU pays them money so they have to walk that revenue line. Like the DMN, the ticket is an SMU lackey. It's funny they are forced to bow down to that joke of a football program. There are some good alums on the station that cover us (Sean Bass, Georgio, etc.) but you have to consciously and purposely make it a point to not mention UNT at this point. The Hardline does it on purpose. It's pretty obvious. Just keep winning. We're going to force their hand.
  18. So if it's windy to the point where both teams become one dimensional, virtually run only, limited "looking for the pass"......who has the advantage?
