  1. That’s how you keep the G5 down. Good job SEC refs. You’re doing your job today.
  2. Yeah. Don’t give a damn. It’s time Mean Green fans and alumni start standing up to the media and other local teams. They can disagree with us all they want. Screw them. That’s part of this “sleeping giant” that’s been talked about for years. 200k strong in the area need to come together and start yelling at the top of their lungs we’re here and we’re not going anywhere.
  3. You have to make a conscience decision to omit UNT from these discussions. I truly believe our potential is threatening to the order of things in this area. They DO NOT want us to live up to our potential.
  4. I'm really trying to block out 20 years of watching UNT in these games..... But I'm going to look at this objectively. I think SMU had more talent on the field than we have (if you go by recruiting standards) They had P5 talent all over that D. We out prepared them and had an advantage in that we knew where we were going and they didn't. What happened in that game is what I thought would happen....they were trying to work out some issues and we were locked in our system and they couldn't react....even with perhaps better talent (on paper) I think Mason Fine will be the best QB in that stadium on Saturday and it won't even be close. And in his words he'll be as prepared as he's ever been. Arkansas has the dangerous combination of trying to work out kinks in new systems AND having the pressure of living up to their SEC affiliation. All the pressure is on them. We have none. All this while dealing with an elite QB that knows exactly what he's doing. Our staff is legit. These players are prepared. I don't think it's going to take much for Arkansas to get frustrated....then they're going to look up and realize they're getting beat by an "inferior" team...then doubt is going to creep in...then Mason is going to pop them again....and it's going to snowball. We build momentum....they quit..... I expect boos from that crowd on Saturday. Despite how bad CUSA is right now.....I think the Mean Green get in the NY6 conversation on Saturday. Mason Fine introduces himself to the rest of the nation. UNT 52 Arkansas 31
  5. All across the nation, programs thrive because of people like the Lovelaces.....We're lucky to have them.
  6. Better hydrate Mason.....for all that humidity up there we've never experienced here....
  7. I was thinking along the lines of how far we've come...from the way Dickey used to view these games to now the way THIS team looks at it to all the ridiculousness in between. We've knocked on the door a few times but couldn't finish the deal. (leading Georgia and Iowa in the 3rd quarter recently....)
  8. To sort of put our history vs. P5s in perspective. Since 2001: We’ve played 32 games vs P5 opponents We’re 2-30 Avg score 41-13 We’ve Played Ark twice, Bama 3 times, Iowa twice, KState 4 times, LSU 3 times, OU 3 times, UT 4 times and TTech, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and Clemson among others in that time frame. I’ve seen in person us lose to OU, TTech, KState twice, and Arkansas. I saw us beat Baylor and Indiana. Dickey was 1-13 avg score: 40-11 Dodge was 0-7 avg score: 49-15 McCarney 1-8 avg score: 40-14 Littrell 0-2 avg score: 32-7 Best game: beat Baylor: 52-14 Worst game: Lost OU: 79-10! (that was Dodge’s first game and the OU coaching staff started chuckling in the post game press conference describing the defensive alignment they saw....our high school D coordinator.....maybe the most embarrassing thing I've ever seen following UNT football....what a sh*t show that was) I say all this to say I have pretty much been to or at least watched everyone of those ass beatings for 17 years. It's amazing how different this team and this opportunity is compared to recent history. This Saturday is the best chance we’ve ever had to turn the tables. Go Mean Green
  9. Another article: http://www.wholehogsports.com/news/2018/sep/14/mean-and-extreme-20180914/ This was a head scratcher: The Razorbacks would like to limit the Mean Green run game, as they did to Colorado State last week, and make Fine and the pass game earn every yard it gets. I guess......Yeah?........Do that?
  10. I think this is Morris trying to get his system in....they're going to have growing pains and my guess is he thought with a "weaker" opponent...that was the time to tinker. He can't afford to tinker this week. He has to win.
  11. I went back and looked at the stats on the Iowa game last year....we had the lead at halftime and for most of the 3rd qtr until they went on a 14 play nearly 7 minute drive to score the go ahead TD. Then they got the ball back again at the end of the 3rd qtr and kept the ball from then and for HALF OF THE 4TH QTR going on a 16 play 87 yard TD drive that lasted nearly 9 minutes Then their last TD drive was 10 plays, 4 minutes. Iowa kept the ball for over 40 minutes in that game and ran the ball 59 times. They wore us down in the 2nd half. If I were Chad Morris....I wouldn't get cute here...I would take the Bielima players and run the ball and try to wear us down...I know he wants to get his system in place...but he can't afford to lose this game. I think this is a must win for him or he's going to be on his way to losing the team with Auburn coming up the next week. How we defend the run is going to be so important.....Front 7 better eat their Wheaties this week and get ready for a long day On the offensive side of things.....I hope we score early and often and put pressure on them to get out of the run game. Evidently they're having QB issues....letting them get into a comfort zone of running consistently could be a problem
  12. kind of what I was thinking.... Who's to say this won't be as good as a Dickey defense at the end of the year? Besides....Dickey didn't face the offenses of today. Not taking anything away from those defenses because they were amazing but offenses have really changed in the past 15-20 years.
  13. So I'm curious...(I'm assuming you went to UNT given your name) What will it take to take you from a "casual" fan to a "die hard" fan? (I'm actually curious about this answer from all "casual" fans)
  14. Auburn!!! You need to be focused on Auburn!!! SEC play is right around the corner! Come on man, get your head right!
  15. I was thinking along these lines too....however someone made the point above....P5s don’t lose to G5’s twice in a row. Arkansas knows that. And then they start looking at film of us. And our receivers. And Mason Fine. Then they look at how a Colorado St team that doesn’t have Mason fine or our receivers gashed their D pretty good. Then they look at our film again. Then they start thinking how P5s don’t lose to G5’s twice in a row. Then they start sweating. If they don’t. Then they’re overlooking us. Which would be a mistake. My point is. They have all the pressure. We don’t. Our team is very confident right now. They’re not going in there “to compete” they’re not going in there “to put up a fight”. They’re going in there to win. They’re going in there to be the aggressor. Not “get out of there alive” They’re gonna be loose, together and playing with swagger. They’re not scared of Arkansas. And they have nothing to lose. Arkansas has everything to lose. P5s don’t lose to G5’s twice. This team is different from any we’ve seen go into a P5’s stadium in a long time. My point is, I originally thought that them losing to CSU didn’t help. But the more I think about it. It doesn’t matter if Arkansas is pissed off or not. It’s about our team.
  16. Yes. Our issues are bigger than the RB. I sat in the wing last night. There is NOWHERE to run.
