That's an interesting point I hadn't thought of when comparing bringing your system to an established team vs bringing in your own players to work within your system.... I can see the challenge Morris has, especially given that it has started so poorly.

That is for sure concerning. The next few weeks will be very telling. I was critical of Littrell and thought he had gotten the program as far as he could. But I will say this to his credit, he never seemed to lose the team and they never quit on him. Gotta give him credit on that one even though the results weren't there. We will see if Morris can do the same.

I think "fire Morris" after 2 games is a bit much. No one can truly know at this point if it was a bad hire or not. However at the same time, his first 2 games have been an absolute disaster. I don't see how anyone can look at the first 2 games an think otherwise without making excuses for him. The trick is, do we believe he can turn it around... No one really knows. But man on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a disaster and 10 being we'll be in a NY6 Bowl, so far he's looking like about a -2. He has what looks like a pretty big hole to dig himself out of. If we lose to LT and then get beat by ACU (very possible), we could be looking at "losing the team" territory. But regardless of the next 2 games, we should see pretty soon if the players are buying into Eric Morris. The next 2 weeks will be telling...

So as a HC, it has to be getting a little warm not only starting out 0-2 but in the manner in which he's started. Don't forget while they scored 46 points, they weren't all on offense. Earle threw a pick 6. And now Morris is talking about Earle's feet being a little quick while at the same time praising Rogers' preparedness and calmness. La Tech is better than FIU. Seems like a no brainer who should start Saturday....

I would say that yes....you could cut Morris a little slack there, he can't recruit if he's not here. However I think this shows some of the frustration with the Athletic Department as a whole. Not addressing Littrell sooner falls squarely on Wren Baker's shoulders. I guess his mind was already in Morgantown. As for Morris, recruiting time aside, through 2 games he looks woefully unprepared to lead an FBS football team. He's had time to evaluate his players and his staff, schemes, etc. This program doesn't need someone getting on the job training. It looks like that's what we have.

#1 Seth Littrell had seven seasons to get us to the next level. He didn't, so they made the decision to move on from him. #2 The guy they replaced Seth Littrell with may be worse than Seth Littrell. Both of those things can be true

I don’t get it either. ESPN had an article about them and they referred To SMU “returning to their glory days” and then immediately talk about those glory days being the early 80’s. And what always amazed me is the SMU people that also refer to 1982 with such warm memories. It completely destroyed their program and should be a shameful, embarrassing time in their history. But they’re actually proud of it. Ironically, imbedded in the ESPN story was a link to “Pony Excess”. mind boggling…..

I'd be curious about this too. No one knows that coach O is a good recruiter yet. So far he's just active on twitter. Let's see results before we claim how great Coach O is. Us wanting him to be a good recruiter doesn't mean he is a good recruiter. I wasn't offended by his "receipts" comment. I was embarrassed....for our university. Well said I mean holy crap. I can’t take another AD with this “it’s the alumni and fans job to to their part, don’t worry about our performance.” For crying out loud this is the 3rd one of these in a row. I’m not going to be lectured by another AD. This attitude is why I STOPPED donating and told them to stick their club seats. And I’m not the only one. I stopped being mad about this football program a long time ago

And I know he can’t coach BUT ultimately he is in charge of all things athletics for UNT. Again, I know it’s one game, but if that wasn’t 73 points to OU bad it was close….EVERYTHING went wrong yesterday and I don’t know how you make our defense grow in one week Morris is Mosely’s hire. He’s responsible. He has to be held to the same standard that ADs before him were. (Or should’ve been) I’ll give him a little bit of a break since our last AD that no one was allowed to criticize hauled ass and didn’t want to deal with our last football coach. But the Buck now stops with Mosley. If Morris crashes and burns, that’s on the current AD. Still a lot of football left…..but I’d be a little nervous if I were the AD. We come back from FIU 0-2 and Datcu Stadium will be empty for the rest of the season….this game is actually really important When are we starting that fancy new weight room? We got the money yet?
