  1. Does anyone know what time the team will practice this Sat and what time they will scrimmage? Thanks !
  2. I believe that is the total...not per year....the rest will have to be made up with $300 used football helmets !!! damn this is fun !!
  3. Didn't say it was....reported to be $20 mil of which $18mil was paid in cash up front.
  4. I just hope they make them a more reasonable $200, instead of the over priced $300 last time...I wasn't willing to pay that, but would probably pay 2 bills...seems like everytime they do something they charge too much....$80 bucks at the Tower club...too much...$7 beers at HOD....too much...$300 helmets...too much....season tickets...about right. They should build the fan base a bit more before they start sticking to everyone...kinda like tuition IMO.
  5. so what happened to the 18million rec'd in cash from Apogee for the naming rights. What about other donations...what happened to that cash?
  6. Why not just sell the season ticket, why just a deposit, get the tickets on the books
  7. I agree...this is just bad business...many of the teams we played were in bottom of rankings, but we did beat them soundly...but I think another year before we go totally off the cliff...maybe lifetime if next season goes well.
  8. I agree...but when do we start seeing 30K per game....in 3 yrs? 5 yrs? sooner?...if we aren't putting 30K in the seats after 5 yrs something is really wrong...the AD has dropped the ball....this season and the HOD bowl made me realize what could be !
  9. We all have had hopes for better and bigger things at UNT....some of us for over 30 yrs. We were helped along when they build the athletic center..we just needed a stadium....then...ground breaking and we ended up with Apogee...just a great stadium. We have seen a great hire in Dan Mac and the other coaches, tailgating has been great...marketing seems to have improved...now we are in CUSA...attendance has improved and the students are really pulling their weight. After the HOD bowl, the crowd and the events...what a fun time, and perhaps a gaze into the future of what could be. My vision just got bigger...I'm more hopeful...the AD and admin are onboard....momentum..thats what it is. We will soon have a new hotel /convention center and bar/restaurant at Apogee. All we need to do is capitalize on whats happening now....momentum ! So, I see potential...potential for a big stepup in attendance, season tickets, exposure...I see we can hopefully get crowds near capacity at Apogee and then look at expanding with a deck and maybe add'l suites ...say 10000 seats. More FUN for everyone..UNT game as the local EVENT..not to be missed. Hopefully the velocity of growth in the UNT football program will be good for the next several years...we will catch up where we should be....finally. So........has your vision changed since the HOD Bowl?....Do you think Dan Mac or RV's vision has changed....Is your vision Bigger? This post has been promoted to an article

  11. I would say if it is going to be 10-15 yrs before expansion, then this is a big fail...if it is this long before we can have sellouts and need more space, then something is wrong...period...IMO
  12. The "EVENT" of the day..must be there...the pageantry (TAM, UT, etc) , the tailgating (this is become very special at UNT now) and the game...it is all about the SOCIAL activities with a great ball game. UNT will need to get the city much more involved, get intouch with alumni (with something they can see or hear, not just a postcard that says "come to a game". It will be sad if we don't capitalize on our current situation.
  13. I think Amon Carter is more on the order of 40K seats, not 50K
  14. Just looking at some of the stadium stuff...Baylor, UofH, K state, etc....so , how long, if ever, before UNT expands Apogee with a Deck and add'l suites on the student side....of course we have to get attendance up, win games, etc...all of these necessary for consideration of a more major conference opportunity...a larger stadium would also be necessary....so....how long before we put the pieces together and expand the stadium,....2-3 yrs, 5-7 yrs, 10-12 yrs,,,never...? and why do you feel this way. OK...after reading a few hostile post, perhaps I should rephrase this as....do you feel the current plan in place will create the demand for add'l seats/suites in the future and if so, how long would that be..2-3 yrs, 5-7 yrs...etc...I'm am not advocating expansion of the stadium...interested in what people think about the current situation and how long before DEMAND outstrips SUPPLY of available seating/suites...creating a need to expand...if ever. (will attendance increase next year, will season ticket sales increase, etc)
  15. The football is now on the website under display football...pretty nice for 60 bucks, a little more with stand or display case.
  16. $81 buck with stand..free shipping if ordered at HOD bowl...he said I should receive in about 20days. He said he would see if he could get a pic of the football up on the site. guess we will have to see.
  17. If I am RV...I push back from the buffet and go after next season "season tickets" NOW...sign people up NOW, don't wait...If I could , I would sign up for the next 2-3 yrs..NOW
  18. I noticed it was not on the site as well, but if you call them surely they will send you a pic...it is very nice, they had it on display at the cotton bowl. I would post a pic, but haven't rec'd my football as of now.....I talked with the owner....send him a email and he will send you a pic of the football.....jeells@biggameusa.com....then someone can post it
  19. a company by the name of Big Game Football Factory...They made the helmet wraps and the footballs....I bought a nice HOD commemorative football with a stand for $81 at the game...you might check them out at biggameusa.com...they are in frisco. It you find out we can get some wraps like from the game then I would like that, as I have an old UNT helmet with the logo that is kinda like the Philidaphia eagles helmet...not a big fan.
  20. Just found out that the TRE is not runnig on NY day
  21. Thanks so much...are there going to be alot of MG folks there...is it close to any NYE events?, MG parties?
  22. I could be interested in staying at the Omni LBJ and doing NYE, Dart train etc....So how is the setup progress going..do you have some commitments, etc
