  1. An apologist? I haven't made a comment about this class other than to say I will wait until signing day to pass judgement. All I noted was that their are hits and misses on both ends of the spectrum.
  2. My skin is a lot thicker than you can imagine, but I find it quite funny that you start off your comment with the term "civilly" and shortly thereafter can't think of anything better to use than the word bullshit, etc... You should be proud of your command of the English language and the vast development of your vocabulary. If you would have read the last sentence of my original post you would have noticed that has stated there are exceptions on both ends of the spectrum. I was just sighting an example, but if your reading comprehension equals your vocabulary, I can see where that might be lost on you. Carry on.
  3. Thanks for being civil. Speaking of my post above, I understand Mayfield was an outlier. I was just making the point that there are exceptions on both ends of the spectrum, that is all. Just as BillySee noted above with his list of 5 star players that we will likely never sniff, and I am alright with that. As Billy also stated, many of our players don't get fairly evaluated by these services. Being how our classes have been, waiting a couple of years to see how they develop is only reasonable. Again, just speaking of our classes historically. Nobody would have ever guessed that Johnny Quinn, Patrick Cobbs, Chris Hurd, Laramie Lee, Scott Hall, etc... would have developed and produced the level of success they did when they were first recruited.
  4. No, we would have received this January 7, 2017!
  5. Speaking of Mayfield. Just look at that offer list for the two time Heisman Trophy finalist who ended up being a walk-on. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/144244/baker-mayfield Younreally want to grade a class? Look at them 4 to 5 years later and see how they produced. The almighty Hayden Fry once signed the #1 recruit in Texas. Do a little research and see how that turned out 4 years later. Point being, there are exceptions on both ends of the spectrum.
  6. I understand your affection for your brother, son, nephew, etc... and am thankful that he is part of our team. Best of luck to Alec in the future.
  7. That "big cannon arm" or any cannon, or any arm are not useful if they shoot the wrong target.
  8. I read in another thread that this day was coming up. Does anyone know the day/date?
  9. Denton has kept their schools in the 2,000 student range and done pretty well.
  10. I see the concern from everyone, but I also realize that Littrell has played everything "close to the vest" since arriving at UNT. From who our starting QB will be, to injury reports, etc... he just chooses to be pretty private on these issues. Is it good for recruiting? I have no idea, but I hope. He has appeared to have a handle on everything else since he has been in Denton, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. What does trouble me is the twitter page that was getting hammered. I seem to recall that we were paying someone good money to come here from Fresno State to fix our social media exposure and that he came with accolades. If we don't have a good class come signing day, and if there is not a good reason that we dropped Donovan and Sewell, then someone will have to stand up and answer the tough questions. Something tells me Vito won't be jeopardizing his access with hard hitting questions. Time will tell. It is called sarcasm.
  11. Just going by the list noted above. Again, let's see who is there on signing day.
  12. Something tells me we will end up with more than 12 recruits in this class.
  13. Then I will replace them with Fort Bend Hightower.
  14. You can drop UTSA a couple of spots since Javaris Steward won't be there on signing day whjch makes me wonder how many other risks, whether grades or criminal, they are taking. Again, let's see these grades on signing day.
  15. Desoto, Cedar Hill, LaMarque, Tyler John Tyler and Denton Ryan
  16. I don't have a dog in the fight other than wanting UNT to win. Just going off of personal observations. Fine seemed to spark the team. I am glad Morris continued to work hard and had success after Fine was injured, but I think Fine brings more to the table than Morris. By your assessment, it sounds like the WR's were only to blame when Morris is in or that Morris didn't have Goree. Well, Fine threw to the same young men and was missing Smiley early in the year.
  17. With your knowledge, how are you not on a staff somewhere?
  18. Morris didn't get screwed. He looked awful against SMU. Fine came in, sparked the offense, complete 7 passes in a row and drove us down the field for a TD. It was pretty obvious to those that were there that Fine was the better fit in this system.
