  2. I was unaware that they had been bought out. I also used to really like Rolling Rock and remember when it was considered premium. Hate to hear this news as I am not a fan of much that comes out of the Bud brewery.
  3. That is great research, but looking through those classes, I would argue that many of the top rated players did not end up being our top performers. For example, our 2015 class has four "A" or better rated players in McNair, Dillman, Combs and Barr. McNair is gone, Dillman has been injured the entire time and moved from the position that earned him that rating, Combs was serviceable, but was he an A? and Barr has also been serviceable but has not locked down a position on the starting OL. Interestingly, many of our top performers, Lee, McClain, McKinney, etc... have been lower rated. James Jones was probably the one who lived up to his rating the best. Recruiting is a crap shoot and the real results become evident a couple years down the road. I trust this staff more than those in the past to find good talent. They were in on DeShaun White when he was a 2 star and we were his only offer. Since then, he has blown up to a 4 star and is now committed to A$M after having almost every big school after him. Only time will tell.
  4. Regardless, not spending that much for one beer.
  5. $6 or $9, this is why I avoid beer at all sporting events. Ridiculous when one warm beer costs the same as a six pack.
  6. Not an opinion, the truth regarding the star system. Take the recent commit from Anna. No stars, no point rating, then he commits to us and bam, stars and a numerical rating. They didn't run out there and assess him overnight, they guessed. By the way, I was talking stars system, not offer list.
  7. That would be "HOF, Practice Field Named, Darrell Dickey."
  8. B.S. Kids aren't rated, they commit and just like that they have a star and number assigned to them. These services don't see all of these kids, they don't have the ability to, but they assign a rating because that is what people want. A couple of years ago I emailed Rivals and they all but admitted to changing star ratings based on where kids commit. It is flawed and just a means to satisfy fan bases. I know that doesn't match up with your dialogue, but it is what it is.
  9. Since when did North Texas approve the maximum student fee?
  10. Thanks Harry. Point #16 was confusing to me unless Hair-Griffen has moved to DB.
  11. Proving what a load of crap the star ratings are once you get below 4 star players.
  12. Yep. It should be "reporting from the Bret Vito bag chair beneath the shade tree outside the fence surrounding the HOF Coach Darrell R Dickey, 4 bowl team, 26 game conference winning streak practive field."
  13. Would still love to know if the shirt Coach Yellock is wearing is available to purchase.
  14. Yep. I would make this assumption as well. Offers don't last forever. In fact, if you look at the offer letter attached to the poll on the DMN website, you will notice in the wording that it says offer is good as long as they are still recruiting said position, or something like that. So, no, I don't think we got out-recruited by ULM.
  15. The only camp that he has been reported as attending is our's.
  16. To answer the questions and get back on topic. 1. Support North Texas and be proud of your school. All other schools you followed as a child, your parents told you to like, etc... come in a distant second. 2. Only wear North Texas clothing, hats, hoodies, etc... on campus, away from campus, to your wedding and to your funeral. Burn all other. 3. Get involved in campus life whether that is RA, Greek, Club Sports, just get involved. It will make your experience much more fun. 4. Attend all events possible, even non-sporting. There are a great number of things to do. 5. Attend all home sporting events. Tailgate, be loud, support your team win or lose, be respectful to visitors from other teams, yell until you can't speak. 6. College is a blast. I miss it every day. Be serious about your studies, but don't miss out on the fun. You only get one shot at this, don't leave with regrets. 7. Meet alumni at the tailgates. They are welcoming, will feed you the best food you will have away from home, don't be afraid to put Tony's balls in your mouth, and they become your network when you graduate. 8. Have fun. 9. Change your Twitter handle. 10. Hate all things SMUt and nUTSAck.
  17. I would think they would practice in the afternoon, you know, practice in the conditions you will play in. Then again, I now qualify as an old geezer that played when water breaks were few and far between, you didn't question your coach, etc...
  18. Give me Sid "Vicious" Moore. He will hit players so hard this year that he will have them seeing double.
  19. McClain was a lightly recruited, lower rated two star prospect out of Rosenberg that had one other published offer from Texas State. Wilson was a lower rated two star recruit with offers from ULM, NMSU and Texas State. I see a very similar prospect in Crosby. As @GMG24 stated, some of these kids from smaller programs are in out of the way places or don't get to attend camp like kids from more highly populated areas and that hurts their recruitment. As always, I am happy to have him here and look forward to seeing how he develops. His athleticism is obvious from his film. Welcome to North Texas Keelan.
  20. I will stick with Julius Combes. I noticed he has dropped his weight from 313 to 269 this year, so I expect him to finally break out and contribute.
