Simon finished the week with a .400 batting average (8-for-20), 11 RBI and 16 total bases including two triples and one home run. She added five runs scored and two stolen bases. For the season, the Crockett, Texas native ranks top 10 in the conference with a .352 batting average, four triples and 96 defensive assists, each are career-high marks for the junior.

The kid would have to be blind, stupid or both to think we had a baseball program, so I find it odd that Morris would sell that lie and mar his reputation with future recruits. Plus, blind, stupid or both are poor QB qualities. I think he fell behind and wants a place where he has the opportunity to also play baseball in the event his football career doesn't pan out, which at this rate, it appears to be occurring.

I agree on Childers. She had lost the strike zone, and with it, her confidence. DeLong put her in situations to succeed and she looked like her old self today. It appears she gets in trouble trying to overthrow the ball instead of trusting what she has. He stuff is electric. Good to see her with a smile on her face after the game. Memphis is horrible. 99.9% of the mistakes they made were just from being lazy fielding the ball. Their coach has a good background, and this must be frustrating to her, but that roster needs an overhaul. They may have already given up on the season. The only player that impressed me in the field was their shortstop.

That call/rule is ridiculous. I would love to hear an explanation as to how they expect the fielder to make that play that would not result in that call. That, to me, was the turning point in the game.

Currently tied for eight with ECU after round one at +6. The leaders are at -3. The good news is that Tucker Allen is tied for first in the medalist race at -4. Our 3-5 players need to step up. I found it interesting that Diego Prone, our best returning player, didn't play the opening round.
