  1. In my opinion, the stylized eagle (flying worm) will always be the best emblem on our helmets and uniforms because of its originality and uniqueness. That emblem symbolizes the winning culture that came with Coach Fry. It should never have been discarded. I'm glad it has been somewhat resurrected. Bring it back to its former glory. Thank you Rick Spears for your awesome contribution to UNT!
  2. Maybe my memory is wrong, but doesn't Utah State owe us some love for supporting them soon after the Big West went belly-up? We need all the backing we can get!
  3. Good offer! There will be a place for him on this team.
  4. I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a second chance to redeem himself here.
  5. Uh oh! Better bring back the TRULY original stylized eagle (worm). LOL
  6. I thank my dad for taking me to games at the old pit in the early 1970s. Fun times!
  7. WKU played in Denton last year before a crowd of over 8,000, and we crapped the bed.
  8. I miss being in the same conference with y'all.
  9. A big YES to Haynes and King! Don't forget Cedrick Hardman, Brian Waters, J.T. Smith, Beasley Reece, etc.
  10. Former UNT men's head basketball coach, Gene Robbins, passed away yesterday. Coach Robbins was a graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. I hope Wren Baker is aware as he is also a graduate of SOSU. The funeral is Friday at First Baptist Church in Durant.
  11. Another statue-worthy football great. Apogee should eventually be surrounded by statues of former players of notoriety. The Walter Payton award speaks volumes for Brian Waters.
  12. He deserves a statue at Apogee!
  13. Probably going to watch the game at Buffalo Wild Wings in Sherman.
  14. It may be an armpit, but I enjoyed living in Nederland for a year and a half.
  15. Agree with you, SilverEagle. Our band's entry has no pizzazz whatsoever. So much more excitement could be added.
  16. Was Burkley Harkless drafted? He played for UNT in the mid-60s.
  17. It was a very nice and well-attended service with beautiful music. Her son, Mark, provided wonderful words of remembrance for sweet Sidney Sue.
